I would have to say PS1.

First console to ever hit 100 million sales.

Metal Gear Solid
Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9
Final Fantasy Tactics
Gran Turismo 1 + 2
Crash Bandicoot Series (3 is my own personal fave platformer ever)
Suikoden 1 + 2
Driver
Tomb Raider Series
Resident Evil Series
Silent Hill Series
Syphon Filter
Need for Speed... and plenty more.

IMO, Playstation has only been beaten by Nintendo DS and Playstation 2

you are right about it hitting 100 million. that definately is impressive.. something the champs before them have never done before.

playstation isnt responsible for crash, spyro and tomb raider. those could have just as easily been on sega saturn or nintendo 64. i like the playstation, but sony just wasnt very creative. it was more like they were leeching off of nintendo's success.

It was my understanding that Sony made crash, and spyro with partnership with naughty dog..

 

did sony have a hand in developing crash? hmm.. i didnt know that

i bet you though, that crash would have been better on the 64.
Sony has alays had good partnerships with 2nd party and sony does have a hand in development. i doubt crash would have been better.. youre just being biased

the 64 had better graphics, and was better for 3d games. crash wasn't a game that needed to be on a cd like final fantasy did.

Only two of those titles were developed by Sony and only two were Sony IPs. The rest of those titles would have been Saturn games if Sony wasn't around.

But they were around...

And does it really matter how many were actually developed by Sony, or how many were Sony IPs? They still appeared on Playstation, and this is meant to be what you think is the better console, Snes or Playstation. I gave my reasons for why i think Playstation.

The Super Nintedo wins when it comes to games. It's third party selection is incredibly impressive alone, just like the Playstations. But the Super Nintendo had someting more. Tons of great Nintendo games.
