I don't know about the Wii reaching 60 million by end of 2009 - financial crisis resulting in high unemployment and lower retail sales as well as Wii needing a price cut and more big selling games.

Wii could fall slightly short of 60 million.

I'll post a youtube video of me watching NJ5's youtube video of him eating the shoe if the Wii doesn't reach 60 million.

If it doesn´t, it´ll get really really close.

And to think a few months ago some people thought it´d sell 70 million by the end of this year..

I'll be in the background asking if it really does taste like tough bacon.

lol, nintendo will be selling average 1mln consoles every week during december. additional 3-3.5mln wiis will be sold from now until december.

Wow i cant believe how so many of u think the wii will sell at the same rate of the 360 for the rest of the year, 70 million is the better question and that can be easily solved by a pricecut

Funny thing is, if you said this six months ago everyone would have nailed you to the cross for placing it anywhere below 75 million by 2009 (I know I got my fair share of laughter for my prediction).
I wonder if the current sales slump and the absence of the famed John Lucas are somehow tied together? I can't help but imagine so, evil as it may be.

Personally, I can see the Wii crossing 60 million this year but perhaps not by all that much.
I could've never dreamed that the Wii would be the hardware prediction I'd miss by the most for this year...

If Wii is nine million short of 60 million, have sold 7 million this year without any major game releases, outside christmas shopping season and with NSMBW, Wii Fit+ and WSR still coming out this year, i'd be very surprised if it didn't hit 60M.
