Duck Hunt (28 million sales) has sold more than CoD4 likely ever will

Second, I don't think it's anywhere near the best shooter ever. I prefer BF1942, CS1.6, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Time Splitters 2, Red Steel 2 and a whole host of other games (basically anything that actually has a health bar for example)

it certainly is a great FPS, but not the best.

I alwaya think of the original doom series when i think of 'best'.
And Far Cry.

A NO wearing a funny hat. And the funny hat on the NO has 6 lbs. of tnt in it.. And it kills the NO. The guts of the NO splatters on a group of NOWs, and since the blood is acid, the NOWs turn into even more NOs.
These NOs then set out on an evil quest, to turn every NOW, NON, and NOR into a NO, so that they may turn into the perfect word... So they gather all of them up into one toilet of a place and set a wild dog on them that tears their extra letters off until tired. Very few of those n-words survive into NOs because of the pain. The yes's then attack the NOs for the genocide of their own people. In response for the need of more soldiers, the NOs implement an 8 child per family minimum. For some reason through genetic mutation or another, the NOs because massive and stupid. Then the yes's finally finish and develop their nuclear bomb and wipe out all of the NOs, and they end up in hell. The estimated total number of NO casualties number around 100 million.

So what was the point of that StratK? Here's the answer:

CounterStrike and Battlefield are the best shooters IMO. Both can be played in a truly "hardcore" fashion and that makes them more interresting than any other FPS.
