If it goes above 1.5million it will be impressive.

Thats impressive for a AAA shooter these days? Well....I guess.

The Conduit isnt a AAA game. Its a new IP. And its on the Wii.

Id say 1.5million would be good.

A new IP can be considered AAA. Gears of War was considered AAA before it came out. The Conduit got the AAA shooter treatment from IGN and Gamespot before its review. Halo was considered AAA before it even hit the original Xbox.

Hint- Gears and Halo have got awesome reviews. The Conduit hasn't.

Aren't AAA games, games that are ranked 90+ Meta/GameRankings? Im pretty sure that The Conduit is like... 70-75ish?

The game got a AAA reception and seemed to be turning heads way before it got its review. Thats all that matters. It's the Wii's premiere shooter.

I don't think it will get to more than 500,000 or 600,000.

Sounds possible to me.

Too bad it flopped.

it flopped according to your expectations, most logical people did not expected it to have Killzone 2 launch for example

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

I don't know about the gamers but the European critics are being really harsh with The Conduit. I mean there were a few US critics (GameSpot, GamePro, Giant Bomb) that gave it terrible scores but it seems like most of the Europeans are giving it in the 70s and lower...

I'm sorry but with as many good games as there are these days a 70 or lower is a rent/pass for most people unless they are attached to the franchise or the specific game for some reason...  And having played The Conduit to death already, I can't see how any core game who has a Wii (even if you have another console) would not want it in their collection, unless they just hate FPS...

Eurogamer are the worst, they only gave it 5/10. Anything less than 7/10 is overly harsh imo. The customisable controls and HUD on-the-fly, the visual effects (not to be confused with art style!) and the multiplayer alone deserve a score of 7+. I personally think anything between 8 and 9 would be fair. Most user reviews I've seen average out at 8.5/10 which is about right imo.

High Voltage Software have managed to develop a game with just about everything bump, gloss or diffuse mapped, high res textures, advanced particle effects, focus blur and HDR lighting effects on a console without pixel shaders along with an entertaining and addictive multiplayer. Anything less than 7/10 is taking the bloody piss imo :Oo

And the Grinder is looking like it's going to be even better!!! :oD

@ The Source - Really?

If it gets lost in the shuffle, sales as low as 600k could potentially be possible, but I would think there are enough niche core gamers on the Wii to grind out more sales than that over lifetime.

Sales will really have to drop off fast if they are to top off at around 500k.

But then Mad World is lingering at 240k after how many weeks now? But the M rating automatically meant it was going to see lower sales on the Wii whereas Conduit took a teen friendly approach for a larger market.
