I don't know about the gamers but the European critics are being really harsh with The Conduit. I mean there were a few US critics (GameSpot, GamePro, Giant Bomb) that gave it terrible scores but it seems like most of the Europeans are giving it in the 70s and lower...

I'm sorry but with as many good games as there are these days a 70 or lower is a rent/pass for most people unless they are attached to the franchise or the specific game for some reason...  And having played The Conduit to death already, I can't see how any core game who has a Wii (even if you have another console) would not want it in their collection, unless they just hate FPS...

Eurogamer are the worst, they only gave it 5/10. Anything less than 7/10 is overly harsh imo. The customisable controls and HUD on-the-fly, the visual effects (not to be confused with art style!) and the multiplayer alone deserve a score of 7+. I personally think anything between 8 and 9 would be fair. Most user reviews I've seen average out at 8.5/10 which is about right imo.

High Voltage Software have managed to develop a game with just about everything bump, gloss or diffuse mapped, high res textures, advanced particle effects, focus blur and HDR lighting effects on a console without pixel shaders along with an entertaining and addictive multiplayer. Anything less than 7/10 is taking the bloody piss imo :Oo

And the Grinder is looking like it's going to be even better!!! :oD
