No the contributors are going to out number us Database Admins and take us over! Also to all who get the positions have fun on the secret forum of secrets! (Note: We need more chips can you get us some?)

Contributors have always outnumbered DB Admins. Anyway, I'm both and I still appear as DB admin, so I guess that's a plus for the purple team. Though I'd really like my name to appear in blue, it looks awesome (no, TalonMan, that doesn't mean you have to demote me )

Mods get the best colour :p

I think contributors have the best color in the site, but mods have a good one too (in fact, everyone has a better color than poor us DB admins)

Damn straight,  check how it matches my avatar perfectly.  That's why I became a mod, the power and responsibility is secondary.

I can imagine you telling that to ioi/naz/whoever:

"Tor, do you want to be a mod? They use green names"

"Sure, man, green will do wonders with my Firo avatar! I accept it!"...."Woohoo! My name is green! Now, what job did he hire me for?"

I would be surprised if anyone decides to take on a the new responsibilities in order to get a new colour. Hahaha.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

This job is for me. I could get a hold of a lot of stuff because I can read Japanese and got a feel for the Japanese gaming world. It helps that I live in Japan. And though I dont always post everyday on this site, i am pretty much here everyday.

In any event I would be willing to commit. here is a article i pulled form the Famitsu site as an example.

A Dragon Quest IX Sales Report from Tokyo

25 people were already lined up outside the Yodabashi Camera electronics store in Shinjuku Ward today at 5:30AM. They had arrived early to
be amongst the first to get their hands on a copy of Dragon Quest IX. By the time the game was available for sale at 7:30AM the people in line numbered over 150. Five years ago for the release of Dragon Quest XIII at the same store there were 400 people waiting in line.

According to the store manager between 400 and 500 people bought a copy of the game within the first hour of its sale. Of those about 3 in 20 had reserved a copy.

The game has been released around the same time as a new red version of the Nintendo DSi. Nintendo expects big sales boosts for their handheld hardware as a result.

That's a great article, because you were present there. Oh and I want to go to Japan some day, it looks beautiful.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Oh well then, anyways, good one since you translated right? And you still can get photos of any events happening near you.

I'd be able to post news on Blu-ray fairly quickly and well. I'm very capable of constructing articles as well or editing already existing works in order to make them sound as nice as possible.

I know it isn't technically a gaming article but I thought PS3 owners and gamers interested in Blu-ray would be curious regarding information such as this.

Wal-Mart Breaks the $100 Blu-ray Player Barrier

July 10, 2009

Barely a month after lowering the price of a Blu-ray player to $128, Wal-Mart has gone further and rolled back the price of the Magnavox NB530MGX (initially $168) to $98. For reference, this is a BonusView (Profile 1.1) player, which supports 1080p (60p and 24p) video, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio bitstreaming and DVD upconversion. It is manufactured by Funai.

This is a very interesting option for those who are looking for an inexpensive Blu-ray player and for whom the lack of BD-Live support isn't a deal breaker.

Nevertheless, the historical honor of first offering a BD player for under $100 belongs to hypermarket chain Meijer, which in June briefly offered a Curtis Mathes player for $99.99 (which sold out within hours).

Update: some forum members who have been to their local Wal-Marts to check this offer are reporting that there is no price drop and that actually the price has increased. We'll keep you posted.

That's a great article, and if you can translate lots of Japanese news it would be great. Could you try to send it as an news submission? http://news.vgchartz.com/submitnews.php

To answer some questions posed in this thread

-We don't require you to be on the site 24/7, just that you can guarantee to make, say, 3 news articles per day (so, a couple hours are more than enough)
-Since you'll be mostly digging news, we don't care much about "console preference", just that if you stumble across something you consider worthy to be posted in the site, be it from whichever console it be, you'll post it

I'll get fired the first day
