Forums - Microsoft - Forza 3: No weather, night racing, or rally

I agree that weather is quite important, but it's funny that Sony fanboys always regarded GT as the ultimate racing game even if it didn't have such an incredibly important feauture as car damage.

Car damage >>> weather change.

I hate bumper car racing in GT, it's meaningless to play without damage.

Have you seen the trailer for GT5?

@Carl2291

Slimebeat said "didn't". He was speaking about "Sony fans" claiming GT was the best for all these years even when it didn't have car damage.

I find it funny though that this went from being about Forza 3 possibly lacking a few features to a good portion of posts just shit talking Sony fans.

Some people need to grow up, seriously.

I'm out.

Perhaps this was done in an attempt to not sacrifice graphical fidelity. A certain upcoming game just announced a feature was not put in it that would have sacrificed said graphical fidelity. This certain feature was something a game with similar gameplay elements included in its feature list.

Several times. I saw damage on the epic blue rally car yes, and there might perhaps have been more (there was a crash scene i think right after the blue rally car). But as far as I know car damage in GT5 isn't clearly confirmed yet, only hinted at by PD.

@Euphoria

Thanks for clearing that up to Carl who misunderstood slightly.

@JaggedSac

Well, considering what one person in this thread already pointed out, this could just be complete bullshit and all of these features could still be in the game.

The game already has 8 cars on screen instead of 16 so I doubt they would need to cut a whole lot more just to help the graphics out.

Did the gameplay videos and/or trailers for Forza 3 show any weather and/or night racing at all?

Question in regards to car damage.

The in-game car damage in these two games, does the damage actually affect how the car handles? Like if I bump a wall going 120 will my car still be able to move or will it actually work how damage is really supposed to work and my car will most likely be completely totaled no longer allowing me to race?

wow, we got some insecure fanboys here...

Yeah, I too consider GT to be the best driving sim out there, it's the one that appeals to me the most, with it's vast car and track selection,highly customizable performance tuning (Exhaust, ECU, NA Tune-up, Tyres, Nitrous, Turbine Kit, Intercooler, Supercharger Kit, Brakes, Brake Balance Controller, Suspension, Transmission, Clutch, Flywheel, Propeller Shaft, Driving Aids, Downforce, LSD, AYC controller, Variable Centre Diff. Controller and Weight Balance, and don't come and say these things aren't in GT, i'm playing GT 4 right at this moment), and good car physics.

But for some of you, that makes me a sony fanboy (when i actually own and play each console, which clearly those who are accusing people to be fanboys, don't do, thus becoming the fanboys themselves). because clearly you can't like a series without making you a fanboy. God help the 10 million people who bought GT 4, all of them sony fanboys, god help Nissan, Citroen, the Tokyo-Geneve Car Show convention, hell, god help London city for hosting Citroen GT show offs, all of them clear Sony fanboys.

I won't continue ranting anymore, since it's almost like talking to a brick wall with some of you, but what I hope is that some of you grow up for a change and try to admit that games CAN CO-EXIST (Shocking isn't it?) and that you don't have to downplay what you don't like, just to satisfy your own petty ego.

LOL. Nice to see people know who I am. ;)

Actually, I'm not gonna mince, those features would only enhance the game. So it is a shame they wont be there. But the game is still a true sim. The thing with Forza games is they always concentrate on the physics and real life car affects. What they are bringing to table is the most realsitic console car manipulation models.

They obviously are upgrading the physics engine, but also implementing tyre deformation engine. We aren't talking about a guage which tells you your tyres are worse, and then the game simulates loss of grip via more sliding. We are talking actual tyre movement in corners. The tyre walls moving in corners which results in the car behaving slightly different. As well as the tyres losing rubber lap by lap. To the point the inside me be more warn on 1 or 2 tyres which result in understeer. This sort of thing will make the driving experience so much more real.

I'm a true Forza fan. It's a game built for racing fans. Realism to the point of no return. GT fans will talk about more cars being important or more tracks being important. But a real racing fan will talk about the BEST new features like Tyre deformation, car tuning options and realistic racing modifications. Where the fastest boost is not always the best option for every car. They are the things that matter first and foremost to me as a racing fan. I view the game as a real race, not a game.

Like I said weather and such would only be more impressive, but if other racing games dont have the driving realsim as above then they al come second to me.

So this news changes nothing I didn't already expect. They spent their time elsewhere in the game. And from my point of you the majorly important part of the game.

Since GT5 has official WRC content it makes sense, no weather and no night racing is surprising.

Sad for Forza fanboys, they love it and deserve better. (they still car fans)
