I don't think the PS3 is "doomed" persay. It's just that people painted expectations according to history and the performance of the PS1 and PS2. Those two systems were amazing, and sure their younger brother is a little rough around the edges. But it is still loved by many fans and still contributes much into the gaming industry as we know it. XMB may become the standard for all consoles in the near future, NXE is pretty damn close to it. And Blu-ray is likely to be adopted as the prime gaming media in the near future as well.

So what I'm sayin' is PS3 isn't doomed. Just people's expectations of the PS3 is doomed. Look at it a different light and the PS3 is a pretty damn amazing system and running around waving the doomed banner makes you look silly. It's doing very well.

I was convinced people weren't going to get this.

It's the entire reason that I can't put my 360 above my PS3!! It would slide off!!

I don't think it is domed, doesn't that imply a circular shape, it is certainly curved, but I generally associate a dome with the top half of a sphere or something like that
