Forums - Gaming - Halo vs Gran Tursmo which brand is stronger?

European tastes in Soccer games, and racing sims are equally unimportant in our eyes.

Truth is, Halo 3's american sales alone make it comparable to GT in brandpower.

GT is huge, but I'll never be able to see is as important of a franchise as Halo. In the end, it's just a racing sim. I realize that is just my opinion, but that's why I post, I guess.

It's like football verses soccer.

I mean, I certainly look down on soccer, lol. Europeans probably look down on American football.

We like different things. To us, Halo is the superbowl, and GT is a sport nobody even likes. it's totally different worldwide.

Reviews though, Halo wins, and sales per game too. So whatever.

To him his opinion is fact, good old ignorance.

GT 10.85
GT2 9.37
GT3 14.87
GT4 9.65

Halo 6.43
Halo2 8.46
halo3 9.85

Whats big or important to you is not being questioned.

Whats big to you does not make it bigger then what is big to the rest of the world, just casue halo is huge in NA does not make it bigger then something thats huge ww.

by the way Superball gets what 100m viewers, World Cup gets over 1 Billion.

WTF is it with Americans and their delusions of grandeur.

GT3 ate some of its sales probably.

Why is it that Gran Turismo 4 on its fourth game on the PS2 sold less than Gran Turismo 3?

7 million people bought GT3 in NA, while 2.76 million bought gt4 in Na. More people bought GT3 in NA than others that year which was crazy.

Alright time to end this. America is not the world folks. Halo is bigGER in America. That's it.

Halo 3 sales numbers:

9.85 million

7.11 million in NA
2.62 In others
.12 in Japan

Need I say more....

Everyone except the Americans look down on American football. Soccer is a lot more popular then Football anyway, proves enough.

Halo 3 is just a generic fps, one of many... It's also unimportant and I can't see how you think Halo 3 is important because it's not. GT games have sold better then Halo, so I don't see the problem here.

Gran Turismo has been around for years, so GT5 better sell better numbers then Halo 3

Halo 3 isn't important? Well according to 9 million owners of the game worldwide I think not.

Soccer is a awesome sport where as NFL football is all about hard hitting and popular players. Soccer is a true football sport though

GT3 launch game? GT4 a regular release game? Recycled content?

Those 9 million people can fight another fps to play, I bet that will be a long search! It's not like Halo is the best shooter you know...

I don't know how GT5 will do, but ps3 userbase is very small, so we'll see.

This is dumb....I can't wait for the GT Movie

Exactly, the PS3 userbase is small and it will be hard to see how GT5 actually helps it sell and the game itself.

Those 9 million people have found alternative FPS's to play. To name a few, actually one of them is Call of Duty 4. The thing is according to Xbox Live stats, Halo 3 is the most played game online. So those 9 million probably did find something else to play but Halo 3 is sold on its multi-player ascept and its story & even Master Chief himself because he is an awesome game character

GT4 was very much set to do near GT3 numbers.

But not long before Na launch online mode was cut, that killed sales there.  Europe seemd not to care muich with online gaming being less important there.
