Forums - Microsoft - 2008 Year of the PS3 ? - No big games anymore for the XBOX 360 and Wii ?

Regardless of extra content, GTAIV should be listed under the ps3 too...not BOLDED under 360 and not even listed under the ps3.

Also need to list White Knight Story under the ps3--almost as hyped as FF, a series than generally sells 8+ million!

And Ninja Gaiden didn't do well enough on the original xbox to warrant being bolded.

When the game selection starts getting thin, people have a habit of over hyping games that are undeserving. (Not saying they're poor games, just that "B" games become "A" games, and that "A" games become "AAA" games...e.g. a guy tried to argue that Conan was a AAA game...I mean, huh?

I love my 360 too, but I have to admit, the line-up for the ps3 in 08' is pretty intimidating--they are PROVEN franchises...heck look at the all time sales figures for FF, MGS, & Grand Turismo...

Well, I now only have access to a PS3 & 360...Plan on buying a wii soon (lol, if I can ever find one available!) but will probably wait until some of the major RPG's come out like Dragon Quest & Tales, etc.

Anyhow, I'm so far behind in games to play that I'm not in a huge hurry (lol, haven't even gotten a chance to finish God of War II yet!)

^^ i dont think that even comes close to the ps3 fanboys argueing how HS, Lair, and Warhawk were all going to be AAA titles and save the ps3

Ninja Gaiden is very quite hyped, specially after the gameplay they showed.

Extra content could be a very big thing to add the 360 in terms of GT 4

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

I'm not totally disagreeing, and I'm not insulting the thread starter, just pointing out an honest truth...but as the Devil's advocate I must say...

Warhawk is one of the most fun games I've played all year--and I own, love, and play all 3 next gen consoles...(My loyalty lies with where the RPG's are at...not with a console manufacturer like some less intelligent beings)...Heavenly Sword was great, but very short....Lair sucked, plain and simple.

But, those games have (partly) been "uplifted" by the hardcore fanboys mainly because of the attacks they've taken from the "other side"...just look at the score a wonderful game like Warhawk is getting here...most who voted probably haven't even played it. It's shameful, and the fools that vote it low for spite and fanboyism are more worthless than the scum between my toes.

Eitherway, don't get too hyped on NG2...I was really let down by NGS on the ps3, so I doubt I'll buy NG2 on my 360...(much more overhyped than HS & WH IMO) With that said, I think Lost Odyssey and Fable II (if it actually makes it out in 09') will definitely be AAA games that I'm DYING TO PLAY...

As far as, GTAIV...list it under the ps3, bold it under the 360...but to get no mention is ludicrous and fanboyish because it will sell more copies than most of the other ps3 games he listed. (The only 3 that will probably sell more than GTAIV on the ps3 are FFXIII, MGS4, and GT5).

Honestly, more than half the consumers won't even realize that GTAIV has exclusive content on the 360 until after they buy it because they aren't forum junky nerds like most of us here.

You also have to remember that the 360 will see UT3, Haze and a couple of other timed sequels that add to the impression that there is a plethora of games for the system (MGS4 anyone?). At the same time, the PS3 will see Eternal Sonata and probably Ace Combat.

Going on the list above the 360 has more quality JRPG's, especially if FFXIII comes in 2009. At the same time, I think the 360 has more JRPG's coming that we don't know about. Infinite Discovery was a recent development and I think there is no way that Microsoft came into this generation after the Japanese Xbox debacle with only BD, LO and Cry on up their sleeve.

Finally, Alan Wake is coming from the guys that made Max Payne, so put it in bold RIGHT NOW. Especially if your going to bold Killzone 2, which is the sequel to a poor game and coming from a developer with an unproven history.

Personally, I'd bold Too Human. But I've been excited about some version of that title for um... SEVEN YEARS since it was originally announced for the PlayStation (1)!!

I suspect Too Human will blow people away - but we'll see. I have a lot of faith in Silicon Knights - given enough time and resources.

EDIT - this will be up for debate, but I'm fairly certain Gears of War II will see a Xmas '08 release (as one of the killer-apps for the 360 over Xmas).

I agree with both of your points.

I think that the reason we haven't heard anything about Gears 2 yet is because they wanted, and needed, as much hype as they could possibly get for Halo 3, and they didn't want to deflate that at all. Secondly, MS needs something huge for next xmas, and what's better than the sequel to the 360s first major break out game?

Just kiss the tip.

Yaaaa.... because NG did a lot better with Sony right? NG2 is going to be hyped up a lot more than the original, and it's pretty much a lock that it is going to sell better than the original. Plus, the first was a bloody good game, so yes, NG2 does deserve to be in bold.

And one more thing. White Knight is NOT nearly as hyped (are you being ridiculous or something?) as FF. Come on now.... seriously.

Just kiss the tip.

One more post. ^^^ ewwww.

NGS on Ps3 i thought was NOT made by the people who made NG on xbox, and that one ruled. It deserves to be hyped

White knight story is quite hyped, but i would put LO hype just as high

So we can conclude if you are not a fanboy like so many are on this forum gamers in 2008 will have no social life because of all those great titles.
