Forums - Gaming - Do enemies respawn anywhere in Fallout 3?

I have been playing this game on and off for the PS3 and I have around 57 hours logged into the game. My current main quest is to get into Vault 87 I believe but I just stumbled across the Oasis which I love because it is such a change of scenery.

Anyways, I have done so much in this game so far. I have finished a massive number of quests and obtained t51-b Power Armor, Lincoln's Repeater, etc, etc...

What I am wondering is why is the Wasteland so... well... dead?

I have played hundreds of hours in Oblivion and noticed how enemies respawn and it was nice because it kept it from getting boring when exploring the world.

In Fallout 3 I do not mind that enemies do not respawn in dungeons, forts, etc. because it is nice to go back to finish up a quest and not need to worry about it being completely repopulated again. What bothers me however is that the Wasteland is so boring now. I can walk around for hours and run into nothing but maybe a bug here and a wolf there. No Super Mutants, no Raiders, pretty much nothing worth my time.

Anyone know if there exists an area where enemies do respawn after a few in game days? Hopefully somewhere that I can just go to for some head shooting fun?

Strange about that lack of respawning. I played it on the pc and have never seen any of these problems. When i took out a nest of supermutants, i found they had respawned some time later. And i played through the entire game with all guests done.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

That's odd. There always seem to be places where I can count on fighting some Raiders or mutants again a few days (or maybe a week) after I last killed them.

It does seem to change from game to game, though. My first couple of games, I would always see Raiders around the supermarket, but they don't spawn there in my current game.

You might want to try under the bridge near the Citadel, or the apartments behind the library. There are usually Raiders around there.

Do they respawn in 1 week real time or 1 week Fallout 3 time?

I have been playing this game obsessively for the last 4 days or so and maybe that could be why they have not shown up again?

I just really need some enemies to use VATS on. I get a kick out of watching their heads fall off and/or explode.

I was also very critical of this game at the start but just like Oblivion this game has really grown on me and now I absolutely love it! I still do not own it either. I may buy it when PS3 gets the DLC.

lol, Euphoria, while I loved a lot of games last year, Fallout 3 is my GotY 08, the best DLC supported single player game, and one of my favorite games of all time! :)

I don't remember respawns on my game either, but I might have been looking the wrong place.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

One week Fallout time.

Believe me, I know how you feel about VATS.

I always seem to get respawning enemies, all over the map.

Mainly i get a mix of raiders, deathclaws and enclave soldiers.

Lately though, im starting to get a big influx of albino radscorpions
