I've added previously announced figures from GAME to the chart in the OP:

Wii NDS DSi PS3 PSP XB360 Total PS2
27/06/09 5.4 9.1 0.3 2.2 3.3 3.9 24.2
31/01/09 5.1 9.0
1.9 3.2 3.3 22.5
03/01/09 4.9 8.8
1.9 3.2 3.2 22.0
13/09/08 3.6 7.1
1.4 2.9 2.3 17.3
28/06/08 3.1 6.4
1.3 2.8 2.2 15.8
02/02/08 2.2 5.5
1.0 2.7 1.9 13.3
05/01/08 2.0 5.4
0.9 2.6 1.8 12.7
15/09/07 1.1 3.8
0.4 2.2 1.3 8.8 9.6

Next update: September 22

Good work BKK2 as always.

So, if we read correctly this table, we see that from begin januar to the end of june:

DS has sold between 210k to 390k

DSI has sold between 260k to 340k.

So globally DS+DSI sold between 470k to 730k

360 has sold between 610k to 790k

PS3 has sold between 210k to 390k

Wii has sold between 410k to 590k

So, when some bodies said:

DS+DSI: 600k

360: 700k

PS3: 300k

Wii: 500k

They could say absolutely very bad numbers, because the true numbers could be:

DS+DSI: 710k

360: 620k

PS3: 350k

Wii: 580k

So, DS can outsold the 360, as we think logic, and Wii can largely outsold the PS3.

So, we must read the informations correctly before given an analyse of them.

There is, for me, no reason, except a typo of GAME, that these LTD numbers can be wrong.

To complete my analysis, we must remember that in the begin of 2008, a lot of buyer of the wii, would have buy the console in 2007, if she was in stock at this moment. So, number for 2008 for the wii in the begin of the year are certainly more high as they must be. Other things, they were Wii Fit and Mario Kart, which have certainly been system seller at this period.
So, all is possible, as the fact that there was no new title for the wii this year, so no new buyer interested by a new game.
For the 360, due to his price (and the price of the ps3), and why not due to the reliability of the console now, all is possible.
For the DS, due to the enormous user base at the end of 2008, maybe it's now normal that the sales are slowing.

er... riiiiight

thats a rather obvious point if you dont minme saying..... clearly the number COULD be anything in between those ranges... so rather than cherry picking like you just did, why not go for the mid point ?

Because the mid points seems impossible due to the impressions we had about the real sales. The ps3 is the best example. She had the same number for begin january and begin february, what is impossible with the real  numbers.

Of course, i don't know the real number, but the posters precedently says they give the right numbers. So, it's normal, that i said what is hidden behind the number we have, to explain that the right numbers can be possible with the impressions we had.

Others things.
For the DS and the Wii, between january and february 2008, the number can be very low, in comparison to what happend during the next five months. So really, buyer of the DS and Wii between february and June 2008 could have bought their consoles before (2007 or january 2008), if she was in stock.

if this is true how are vgchartz data so different? surely this brings the validity of vgchartz as a source?

Wow pathetic how so many Nintendo fans are taking this so hard.

If VGC was tracking these numbers and Chart Track was tracking VGC, then they would be saying VGC sucks.

I specifically asked Chart Track if the 360, Wii and DS figures reported by GamesIndustry.biz were correct:

You make the thing more speedly than me BKK2.
So, numbers LTD at the end of june are right, and they are rounded numbers which can say that they have the precision +/-50k.

The numbers are heavily rounded, Lombard explained it earlier in the thread.
