Forums - Sony - Tomb Raider Underworld and New Prince of Persia sold better on PS3 than 360

Compertition there is more choice on 360! Up untill recently there wasnt anything decent for the ps3

Nice try. How many games on 360 revolve around platforming and shooting, while searching for ancient relics?

PS3: 1 (Uncharted)

360: 0.

So, the PS3 version was competing with Uncharted, and still won.

Even with all these sales, both titles underperformed in the marketplace.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

What's the point of this thread? The 360 still moves more software than the PS3 on a regular basis.

The norm is for software to sell more the Xbox, because of the larger install base, but we were examining the reasons why these games sold better on the PS3 in spite of the smaller userbase

How did they underperform? Both titles sold significantly more than a million on PS3 + 360. Not all games are Halo, Gran Turismo and Mario, you know. 1 million for games like these is fantastic.

Right, so the PS3 has a built-in fanbase for relic hunting games. It was hardly a fair contest!

For good relic hunting games, thus the mistery is still unsolved...

I think this comes down to the preferences of the userbase. PS3 owners seem to prefer playing platform adventure style games. 360 owners prefer FPS'.

Tomb Raider was supposed to sell 2.5 million. that is why the dev team had to lay off alot of people

Relic hunting + boobies = good enough, I guess.
