Forums - Nintendo - RETRO STUDIOS unannounced project.

E3 2009 passed and we discovered that there are 2 new Marios, a new Zelda and a new Metroid, but this one being made by Team Ninja.

In the last years Retro has been developing Metroid games, but it seems like it is over.

We know nothing about what they can be doing just now, but for sure, it is something that at least has been in development for two years (since Metroid Prime 3 Corruption was finished) and currently their project must be near of 50% of development. However, we saw nothing from them at E3.

Do you think they will show up some software in the Nintendo Event of October?

And what game/franchise they may be worrking on?

My bet is a new Starfox game, since we have seen nothing from Fox this generetion, although a totally new IP will also be welcome.

Rumors were going around that they were helping with Zelda, but something happened and they aren't doing that anymore.

They've clearly spent all their time on Prime New Play on Wii and Prime trilogy. There's nothing new coming at all, i'm sure.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

My bet, something new entirely, inspired by some games they have worked on in the past.

Raven Blade??

I think I'd agree with Stof. They might have been kicking the tires on a couple of things, but with most of their time being spent on the remake/trilogy, they probably haven't gone very far in their next project.

Maybe. Most likely not.

i doubt the remake would have taken them 2 years... they have to have at least started something new

they weren't developing a new game yet as far as i knew.

I think they've been studying and waiting for the right direction to emerge before plunging into a completely new project of their own.

After Rare licensed the Donkey Kong trilogy they licensed Goldeneye, so I'm expecting Retro to end up with a franchise totally different from Metroid, perhaps owned by another company. Maybe that's why they've been mingling so much, helping other teams and remaking games. Who knows?

Maybe we'll see a teaser soon, but I don't think it's gonna be anywhere near done. Just because Corruption came out two years ago does not necessarily mean a new game has been in development.
