Forums - Gaming - This 7th Generation of console is kinda like the Dark Knight.

I can see the comparison between The Dark Knight and videogames as a whole though. The Dark Knight was incredibly popular and loved by the vast majority of people, but a small group of snooty elitist critics kept it from being fully recognized for its quality.

Huh? Are we talking about the same movie here? The Dark Knight has a ridiculously high rating on rottentomatoes, with an average rating of "A" out of a scale from A+ to F. It won two Academy Awards and got nominated for another six. It ended up on 34 critics' top ten lists, including 9 picks for best film of the year.

You must be thinking of that other Batman movie, the one with Liam Neeson.

It's Kinda like the dark Knight

PS3 (Harvey Dent)
Batman (Xbox 360)
Wii (The Joker)

Harvey Dent was incredibly popular and confident with a well known track record of success, a fan favorite of the people and the ideal hope for true Justice (Single Console Solution) in Gotham City (Gaming). Yet his over ambition, recklessness and lack of foresight much like Sony’s set him up for failure as the circumstances of the world around conspired against him. Now burnt and deformed, he is a fallen hero much like the PS3 has become, a brand of justice favored by some but a justice that could never be a true solution for Gotham.

Batman was a vigilante, a newcomer of justice in the stagnant Gotham. While outside the law he was with the money and means to deliver his own “Hardcore” brand of justice. But despite his mission his means and imperfect methods would forever cast him as the villain in the eyes of many. In the end he may not have been the better choice than Harvey Dent for Justice in Gotham, but he was the only choice that worked and while he was victorious over the fallen Harvey Dent (PS3) he for all his efforts couldn’t kill the joker (Wii).

The Joker was fascinating and brilliant, everyone either wanted to emulate him or get him, he was a whole new type of criminal in Gotham (Gaming). His brand of unconventional justice was subversive and unexpected, almost viral in its propensity to spread to the common masses. His brilliance and planning was beyond that of what either Batman or Harvey’s conventional ideals of justice could have anticipated. Only by stooping to his level could the batman or harvey stand a chance of stopping the joker but had no avail, the joker was a witty one, and in the end the joker still lived not victorious but with a smile on his face.

The analogy pretty much falls flat with the Wii to Joker comparison. Most people hated the Joker. In the movie, the only people who really liked him were a couple of goons, who most likely joined him so that they could wear red lipstick and white makeup and put pantyhose over their heads.

I thought the mentally retarded flocked to him.... matter of fact batman said something to dent  about that. and i doubt he was the only one, the movie didn't really go into the whole ideological value of the town, it tried to, but the boat scene was about as close as it got.... and i feel that was  a bit too optimistic

Dark Knight should have won Best Picture its much better than Slumdog Millionaire. I am an Oscar guy I keep track of those kinds of movies and Slumdog is a bigger upset than Crash winning.
