New Wii, Wii Remote Colors In The Flesh

Product renders and marketing shots are one thing. It's another thing entirely to look at a consumer electronics product in the flesh. So let's look at the new Nintendo Wii and Wii Remote colours!

Both the black Wii (and its associated peripherals) and the blue Wii Remote (currently a Japan-only Club Nintendo contest prize) were present at the World Hobby Fair held in Tokyo over the weekend.

The blue Wii Remote & nunchuk look about as we'd expected. Blue. Very blue. But the black Wii looks like it really shines, the console's gloss finish a lot more apparent in black than it was in white. Digging the two-tone nunchuk.

the black one is so hot and will be my second Wii just so it fits in my new room with a black wall.

If I got a Wii, it would be black.

I find that blue shade kinda nauseating. Maybe a royal blue, or (my personal favourite) electric blue wouldn't turn my stomach.

One problem I see for someone who might want to replace their current Wii with a new colored one: what will they do about game saves that you can't transfer to an SD card? Animal Crossing and Smash Bros don't let you transfer game data off the internal memory.

Regardless, that black system does look very cool.

Well I had to redo my 500+ hour save of SSBB on my Wii once (Wii broke, nintendo fixed it but erased everything) so I'd be fine with doing it again, and I don't have Animal Crossing. Plus most people getting a second Wii will either a) keep the first one or b) give it to someone they know (like me, I plan to give my White Wii to my sister if/when the Black Wii comes to the US)

The blue reminds me of Peptobismo (?), only blue.
