You're essentially telling me that if I'm going to post in a thread I need to be on both sides, and can't be on one side, which makes no sense whatsoever. Good job. |
He never asked you to "be on both sides". He asked you to be fair and talk to both of us rather than just singling me out, because you don't agree with me. If you actually read what I wrote, as well, you will notice that where I was going, pertaining to platformers. You would've noticed that I think that platformers technically aren't hardcore, because they are created for a "pick up and play" gaming style. Any game that has the "pick up and play" style, is a casual game. Hardcore games are titles thats gameplay actually has to be explored, which casuals will usually ignore. Platformers are hardcore in the respect, that Mario is the face of Nintendo and actually has fans. Gameplay-wise it is still a pick up and play game, unless you're playing Mario RPG. Mario is supposed to be the fundamental title that picks up the younger generations. He's the face of my younger days and yours, I'm sure. Zelda isn't casual and neither is Metroid. That cannot be picked up easily, like Mario. You have to become at least a moderate gamer to play that game.
