I'm not the only one in the debate, and this debate isn't with you. Besides, what is there to feel sorry about? We're just talking out our differences in games. I love the heat of debate and thats why I involve myself in it, win or lose. 9Chiba obviously insists on proving to me that Nintendo in some form or fashion is focused on the hardcore...which is somewhat Shia's argument. I agree with Shia's statement, quite franly. What you should feel sorry about, is Nintendo fanboys getting defensive and using ad homenim attacks on a pretty good actor who isn't here to defend himself. It should be impressive enough that there is even an actor who likes to game and is within the age group of most of us.

"I don't mess with the Wii, to be honest with you. It's kind of an amateur console. I'm not into the Wii thing."

I'm assuming you mean this statement? I don't think people really mind about that one, so much. The thing everyone seems to be bitching about is this:

"This is how in a simple way you can find out if it's a gamer you want to play with. Ask them if they have a Wii. If they say yes, get the f*** out of there."

That part isn't really an opinion, it's an insult. It isn't directed at the Wii games, it's directed at its owners. I don't see how retaliation (ad hominem attacks) would be uncalled for at that point.

Anybody who defends that particular quote is either being a troll, or is just ignorant. Personally, I don't mind it since he's not someone I care about, and I know the comment wasn't serious (it came more from his anti-Wii fanboyism, I say similar ignorant things when joking with friends). Some people are more into the proper public image (maturity, manners or whatever), they're the ones who'd obviously get upset...

I cannot condone what he said. I never saw that part. However, I still agree with his general feeling about the Wii. I'm buying a Wii, myself, but I'm giving it to my mother, since she saw the Nintendo commercials and wants to try out Wii-Fit. It could be a pretty good experience for her.
