Forums - Sales - Wii60 Gap CLOSING in - People FINALLY going for Cheapest Option?

Yeah, Wii is "only" selling PS2-like numbers now in the generally slow spring months ... time to hit the panic button ;)

i kinda did it in reverse

i got a launch 360 for 400 bucks plus tax, then bought the cheaper Wii later

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

No, because even if the Wii outsells the 360 by one unit per week, the gap grows.

And the Wii is outselling the 360 by a LOT more than one unit per week.

Wii Sports Resort.

That is all.

This. People are REALLY underestimating the sell power of Wii Sports Resort. People bought Wiis just for Wii Sports. It's going to sell like crazy from It's release to XMas, topped with Wii Fit 2 the Wii sales will go crazy again... especially during the holidays where the Wii becomes "rare" again.

Sadly despite the 360 being so cheap and to feature built in memory (and that $20-$30 option to buy a 20 giger HD on fleabay) and so many damn games to chose from, people rather have the family friendly Wii. Granted I don't blame them if they never cared for games before and want some very casual (and thats why MS is gonna drive Natal in full force next year).

People greatly exagerrate WSR power to sale Wii consoles to people who weren't interested in motion controls when Wii released with wii sports.

Another consideration that people may have missed is that the Wii is no longer impacted by supply like it once was ...

While this means the Wii can see bigger boosts from the release of games, and what not, there is also not a back-log of demand of people who will pick up a Wii on an arbitrary Wednesday in the middle of March simply because it is finally in stock.

Thats great 360 can outsell the wii.

This has to be a joke thread right? Wii has consistently outsold 360 by a sizeable margin for years. How is it exactly the 360 is closing the gap? Especially once the next round of big Wii games launch later this year.

+1

This is a Joke thread right?

Wait until *insert savior name* and the Wii will be saved.

Uhmmm, we're talking about the Wii here, haxxiy.  Not the PS3.

Good point.

Seriously people are making too much of this so called Wii slump. It was selling insane record breaking numbers for so long, and now it's just coming back to earth. The Wii will never reach DS like numbers, I've beleived that for a while, but it will continue to do great, and get boosts when big games come out. And it is the gift console you can give just about anybody, so come the holiday season it will certainly get a huge boost.
