wii market share dropping?

Pricecuts, colours and slims are needed.

And people say price cuts don't have lasting effects. There is a reason why the 360 is the only console that is up YoY.

I miss those days where we all used to talk numbers....

It's cause the numbers are so boring and predictable now.

From October onwards though the numbers should liven up a bit.

Thanks for the numbers. It's always nice to see non PR colored numbers. June will be interesting. Last year was MGS4 which pushed the PS3 to over 400k. We might be looking at another -250k+ addition to the PS3's YOY. Sony will have to make up the gap for what they're losing YOY with a price cut before they can sell more YOY and meet their Fiscal year projections. The longer they hold out, the harder this job gets for them.

Numbers FTW!

This is what the site is all about. I can get screen shots and video clips at any number of sites, but only here can I get decent numbers to ponder, interpret and argue over.

I'd like to see how these %s have changed during this year. Can you give us links to a few previous threads?

^ Well Sony have forecasted 13M units to be sold by the end of their FY. If they are doing a two $50 cuts strategy then they need to act now.
If they are going for one $100 cut then I think they can hold out to October at the latest.

Next month should be fun with the predictable huge YoY difference on PS3 and Wii.

If they do $100, it'll be interesting to see how different the hardware, complimenting the price cut will be. I don't mean "OMG SLIM PS3!" but small die and perhaps even a simpler mother board. $50 with a mild hardware changes would be the most economical for their bottom line. The problem with a $100 cut is that you could lose steam fast, while mounting up more losses and be stuck in a negative cycle of having to slash prices drastically to stimulate sales for short periods.

Wait... the X360 is 680k up YoY and the PS3 680k down YoY? O.o

Anyway, nice to see X360 getting a steady pace due to a solid lineup and reasonable market pricing.

And Wii will keep down YoY, even with WSR... *runs away*
