Forums - Sales - How will Super Paper Mario sell?

kber, you know that it switches between 2D and 3D, right? I don't remember that from NSMB. Besides, your post is pretty off-topic.

Ok, I'm sorry. I just hate Mario Bros. It's my little vengeance for all these off-topic posts in (sacred) FF:CC thread. I feel better now.

Super paper is ranked at 6 on amazon.com since 2 days...

I think everyone is way too optimistic about this games' sales. Lots of you are saying 3 million/5 million... Etc. 2.5 Mil is almost 50% of Wii's current userbase. You can expect it to sell fast in the beginning and slowly during the wii's lifecycle so it will easily reach 1/1.5 Million and then slowly work its way up to 2/2.5 million... Maybe 2.5/3 eventyually.

THE NETHERLANDS

Well thinking about how well Zelda has sold which indicates that a large amount of Nintendo fans actuly owns a Wii means for me that their is a big chance that these people will buy it. Don't think it will be a system seller for anybody expect me ;) But decent sales and I think total life time around 2.5 - 3 million WW. Might depend on how easy it is to play, might gather some old school fans of SM that have join the playing ground again.

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!

Did somebody say "moderate?"

2004 Lincoln LSV8 - ~$15,000

K&N Cold Air Intake - $300

Handheld ECU Reprogrammer - $400

Why don't you just wait for the reviews first? I think the sales numbers will be somewhere between Paper Mario on GC and New Super Mario Bros on DS.

Hardcore gaming is a bubble economy blown up by Microsoft's $7 $6 billion losses.

I disagree with a lot of the comments in this thread about the sales of this game. Especially saying that the sales for this game will be between Paper Mario on GCN and New Super Mario Bros... that's a pretty broad number... and also pretty obvious that it will sell between these two... Paper Mario 1000 Year Door didn't do spectacularly... it defiantly has way more potential than that, but no way near as much as New Super Mario Bros. I believe sales of over 2 million worldwide is possible for this game, but I don't believe it will go TOO much higher than that. I do not believe this game is a system seller, it's not the type of game that someone will see and then go out and buy a Wii because of. Some owners who already have a Wii might purchase this game as it's a good game to compliment their collection, but it definitely doesn't appeal to the 'new' gamers that Nintendo has brought in. The analogy about this game being the New Super Mario Bros of the Wii is definitely un-founded... it departs from the style of the old Mario games too much... a lot of people who like the 2D games can't stand the 3D elements... and I'm just not sure it has that kind of power behind it. The name Super Paper Mario certainly helps this game, but the slower paced game play and the story and RPG elements I think will turn off some classic Mario players. Don't expect HUGE numbers from this game people, you'll be setting yourself up for disappointment.

Paper Mario 2 on GC did near 2 million according to this website..Wii games seem to be selling better than GC games, so that would mean the game should be around 2.5 million..eventually.

I'll likely be buying it. I haven't bought a Wii title since Elebits, so when the semester is over I'll be getting Paper Mario and something else (I'm thinking Heatseeker baring really bad reviews)
