I agree.  It should be called Pikmin Wii.  Apart from Punch Out all Nintendo made games with Wii in the title have had mad sales (and I am not even sure Punch Out has Wii in the actual title)

Like the others said, if Fire Emblem has had 11 games and none have ever sold a million, Pikmin will feep going. I see no reason why Pikmin 3 couln't sell 1.5 million at least.

the small team currently making pikmin 3 isnt the entire team. they are just doing the groundwork whilst the rest of EAD4 do super mario bros wii. when that game releses they shall have close the entire of EAD4 dedicated to doing pikmin 3, probs a 2011 title tho

As long as the games are profitable and Nintendo feel they a=can keep the franchise fresh and creative I imagine they will keep it around. Probably not with any great frequency, perhaps one game every several years or so.

Nintendo never really stops supporting their popular franchises--they just don't see new entries 'as often'.

Oh no!!!! I can't wait that long.  I am the biggest Pikmin fan on VGChartz and I will go crazy if it doesn't happen by mid next year.

i doubt it....if the games continue to keeps selling a million or so each then i think Nintendo will keep the franchise around

It's called Super Smash Bros. At least it's not cheesy cameos in other franchises games.


What's Smash Bros. got to do with anything?  In fact, pretty much every character in those games, both playable and Assist Trophy, have seen their own games quite recently.

Little Mac Assist Trophy?  New Punch Out!!

Saki Assist Trophy?  New Sin & Punishment.

Fire Emblem characters?  Shadow Dragon.

Starfy?  Can't go half an hour on TV without seeing an ad now for The Legendary Starfy.

Hell, you could argue that having Zero Suit Samus as a playable foreshadowed her being that way in Other M.

 

There are some exceptions, like Ice Climbers, but by and large, if a character that hasn't had a recent game makes a Smash Bros appearance, they're getting their own title soon.
