Let's Killzone2 and GT5 burn these heretics ...

"""That is not to say that it will just roll over and die, I’m sure that some more really terrific games will come out and the console will run as much of its life span as possible, but they will not surpass what they have accomplished in the last 6 months."""

=> Quote For True

Microsoft can buy the media (was funny to see advertissement on the main french TV channel with a famous guy promoting in live Halo3 the day of his release) but that will not sufficient.

Interesting ideas ... and they got a point actually . I dont think that the upcomming games like Mass Effect are even far capable to generate enough hype for the 360 to let it be #2 :?

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Hello

How can somebody with half a brain think that BS of an article is a good read ?
A console is never maxed that early in his life, thats as simple as that !

Bye.

Zones : I still don't understand all the love for Blizzard, what was the last game they developed worth playing?

Developers have been toying with the 360 dev kits for nearly 3 years now, add the ease of development and you get your answer.

Wow, this was a really bad article. Sorry to the folks who agreed with it early in the thread but I really think you were just enjoying the hype and not really thinking about what was written here. There is really no reason to think what he is saying is true, and the logic he uses to come to the conclusion is fairly flawed and makes a number of assumptions.

I can think of a few reasons why they would be willing to do what they have done that mean the exact opposite of the conclusion he has come to. For instance, maybe MS believes Sony is weak now and if they can steal big titles now they can kill the beast before it gets going. It would explain what they have done and doesn't spell doom for the 360. Is this hypothesis any more valid or correct than his? Absolutely not, they are both purely based on conjecture and speculation.

The 360 and its games will always sell well but the real question is how big can the console's userbase really get with such a limited demographic of consumers? Some would say it can't get any larger than the original Xbox, but I think it will be bigger, but how much is the question now isn't it.

I understand, but he said that the system with the best games usually wins(which is true), but he put the wii as an example.

Actually Leo, I never suggested the Wii has the best games. Read it again.   I used the Wii as an example of a system selling well without being the most powerful.  The PS2 is another excellent example.  The article assumes that because the 360 (it claims) is maxed out, it can no longer remain competitive against the PS3.  However it gives no basis for that argument.  When you look at how the PS2 and Wii both soldout technically superior systems (As did Atari 2600, NES, SNES and PS) it makes the article meritless.  What made these systems sell so well was that they all had the greatest amount of games that appealed to the widest audience (for the Wii, currently only the latter applies).

As long as the 360 has games that appeal to as many or more people than what PS3 has, it will continue to outsell it.   Of course the reverse is true too, but the article isn't about games just system potential.

I have thought about it more, and I agree with the article. Not about Halo 3 exactly, but about lack of future titles. I have been planning on getting a 360; there are quite a few good games out. However, I am not going to, because there are only 3 games out now that I know I would want to buy in the future (halo wars, banjo-kazooie3, and Fable 2) There are alot of good games for Xbox, but the top-tier games are mostly FPS, which I don't like (with the exception of Halo)

im still predicting 10 - 15 million higher thenthe original xbox's fanbase.

Whatever, his opinion. My opinion this is Microsoft's Xbox 360 3rd year. Microsoft is planning their next console already. I'm fine with it. If they say it has reached its potential then so be it. I don't see it at all.

Well if it has then that means its easy to use. So if a developer wants to make a easy big franchise on it. Well they can, cause its NOW easy to develop for other than the so-called PS3.

I believe franchises are still coming to the 360, we have the next Bungie project on its way, Gears of War 2 is most likely in the works, Xbox Live is dominating the online part of this generation life. Xbox 360 is the best console and I'm a proud owner! 8)
