Forums - Sales - Why isn't FF7 on XBLA? will it EVER be on there?

Because the game sold 9 million on a Sony console, and SE figure that 360 owners don't give a damn?

Interesting....so by your logic...Microsoft own the rights to Everquest, DC Universe, Free Realms and any other games that are played on the PC? I don't think that's how it works...Unless they are "Games for Windows" I don't think Microsoft own the rights to them..I could be wrong on that but I don't think you're right about that either. If anyone has any clearer knowledge on the information, feel free to respond to this post. Because I'm curious about it...

Really not my business, but I suppose I'll answer anyway.

PC doesn't equal MS. You don't pay any licensing fees on PC, PC is a completely open platform. I don't think even Games for Windows requires licensing fees but has some other requirements instead (though I could wrong about that one). Also, I didn't bother to have more than a quick glance at the post you were responing to so I could really have said something that's not important or doesn't make any sense.

Well sony did publish the playstation 1 game in the U.S and in Europe, so who knows.

Why isnt crash bandicoot on XBLA?

Crash Bandicoot was released on Xbox

Im talking about the 1st one on Playstation published by Sony, why isnt it on XBLA

Becuase the Xbox has a better version?

Your derailing the thread by bringing this up..Just come out and say it "I think FFVII would not be able to come out on XBLA becuase Sony published it"

And although I don't think MS would bother trying to get the game..but if they wanted to they could get the game on XBLA

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if prior to the launch of FF13 next year on the 360 they do release FF7 on XBLA.

FF VII runs on PlayStation hardware or a PS1 emulator. Xbox 360 would need to have a working one in it to be able to run FF VII.

Now, do you honestly believe Sony would let that happen?

/end thread

Edit: I just remembered that there is a PC version. They could work with that I suppose.

If SE wanted quick easy money, they would port the PC version to XBL around the time FF13 comes out.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I'd buy it for sure. Let's start a petition.

As I said earlier, they'd have to recode the game from scratch. The PC version of FFVII was Glide based.

They could also just use an emulator. I do believe Castlevania SOTN uses a Playstation emulator.

Also there are Glide Wrappers available to enable other video cards(using OpenGL/DirectX) to play Glide only games. MS/SE could utilize/create one for the 360 to get the pc version of the game to run as well.
