I mean, holy shit. What is Square Enix thinking? Names like that were cool when I was, I don't know, eleven years old? This is seriously even worse than "Edge Maverick". What are the other characters going to be named? Blade, Danger, and Bolt? I have never seen a name that has so simultaneously tried to be cool and yet utterly failed so miserably.
The implication this naming decision makes about the creative energies behind the game is so dire that it has cast my entire faith in Final Fantasy XIII in doubt. I thought this was going to just be a code name, but all indications recently point towards it not being one (or at least not for functional, widely used purposes.)
Seriously, WHY? Do they have THAT low of an opinion of Final Fantasy fans' intelligence and good taste? Even if the rest of the game is as incredible as it could possibly be, this will be the one turd that accidentally got mixed into the batter; no matter what it's going to make the entire cake taste a little like shit.
