Forums - Sony - PSP GO will Fail

just swap them between your PC or PS3.

Sony will easily let you do just that, eh.

Just dont buy the thing. Sony will cut the price quick enough if they dont sell.

I thought one of the main points of the go was to counter piracy... you don't do that by increasing the price of your countermeasure and keep a moddable version available on the market...

PSP Go will be hacked in a month.

The Halo francise is the most overrated bland game to ever hit the console market. It provides a bad name to all FPS that even showed effort at creating an original entertaining plot.

I probably have more ps3 games than you :/

Why can't people understand that the PSPGO is neither a replacement for or the successor to the PSP?

The PSP 3000 will still be around and the main platform, so anyone who doesn't like the GO can simply ignore it and opt for the former. Don't want to lose your UMDs? Stick with your current PSP.

The GO is mostly for tech-freaks and early adopters who absolutely have to have the latest gadgets. That's why it's priced so high.

I could understand people being upset if Sony discontinued the current PSP models and made the GO the only platform, that's not the case.

Yeah thats the best idea! I mean it worked for the PS3 and PSX!  *really heavy sarcasm*

When your software sales are in the toilet and Japan is really the only place keeping your system alive you need to introduce more costs to develop a more expensive system!  ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR IN THE RED!

HOORAY BEER!  I mean...HOORAY BUSINESS DECISIONS!

You're wrong. For one thing the PSP Go! in all probability isn't more expensive to manufacture than the PSP-3000, meaning their making a HUGE profit off of every system sold. Way more than they're currently losing off of every PS3 sold. Furthermore since all it's games are digitally distributed it allows a much bigger profit margin for both Sony and the publishers off of every game sold.

Seriously, releasing a hugely profitible device that in every way leads to a ton of cash entering your wallet WHEN YOU'RE IN THE RED!?

Truly Sony deserves a Beer for their intellegence in this matter.

great thread. Finally one with some facts not just "duhh...it's too eckspenzive"

So basically the only differences are smaller screen and no UMD drive. Basically the PSP 3000 is better and less expensive.

Lol @ ignorance.

No, that is not basically the difference. The screen has been improved and has removed the faults of the one in the 3000, so while the screen is smaller, it is also better. Then there is the whole thing about the internal memory, the size and weight and the controls (which are not only of better quality but also better placed). The PSPGo also has ingame XMB and clock and calendar applications, none of which are coming to the 3000, and it has a Bluetooth chip.

Whether you like the PSP 3000 better or not is just a case of opinion though.

Well this doesn't seem to be a very good thing for the PSP Go...Battery life hasn't been improved at all??? WTF?

http://kotaku.com/5288929/details-on-pspgo-battery-life-accessories--more

The PSPgo, according to official European word, will come with an "embedded battery" offering a charge "equivalent with the current models." That means approximately 3 to 6 hours for gameplay and 3 to 5 hours for playing back video. Looks like a smaller battery may cancel out power saving benefits achieved from dropping the UMD drive.

Well, id say I wouldn't touch a PSP3k with a 10 foot pole.  The screen has issues I don't like, but since they fixed that with the PSPGO I can finally upgrade my PSP2k.  I actually want to be able to put a PSP in my pocket which I can't do with my PSP2k.  I already am going to download all the games I have on UMD already anyway so thats a non-issue, I am sick and tired of carrying around UMD discs.  A 16GB SONY Memory stick costs about $100.  PSP3k price + 16GB memory stick = $249.  Imagine that.

So, you plan on rebuying all the games you already bought on UMD for the PSP?
