Why can't people understand that the PSPGO is neither a replacement for or the successor to the PSP?

The PSP 3000 will still be around and the main platform, so anyone who doesn't like the GO can simply ignore it and opt for the former. Don't want to lose your UMDs? Stick with your current PSP.

The GO is mostly for tech-freaks and early adopters who absolutely have to have the latest gadgets. That's why it's priced so high.

I could understand people being upset if Sony discontinued the current PSP models and made the GO the only platform, that's not the case.

Yeah thats the best idea! I mean it worked for the PS3 and PSX!  *really heavy sarcasm*

When your software sales are in the toilet and Japan is really the only place keeping your system alive you need to introduce more costs to develop a more expensive system!  ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR IN THE RED!

HOORAY BEER!  I mean...HOORAY BUSINESS DECISIONS!

You're wrong. For one thing the PSP Go! in all probability isn't more expensive to manufacture than the PSP-3000, meaning their making a HUGE profit off of every system sold. Way more than they're currently losing off of every PS3 sold. Furthermore since all it's games are digitally distributed it allows a much bigger profit margin for both Sony and the publishers off of every game sold.

Seriously, releasing a hugely profitible device that in every way leads to a ton of cash entering your wallet WHEN YOU'RE IN THE RED!?

Truly Sony deserves a Beer for their intellegence in this matter.
