Cheebee why trust reviewers ?

Here's 1:
Game Informer
A definite upgrade for casual gamers who want a deeper tennis experience than Wii Sports. [July 2009, p.85]

Thats one of the most retarded statements about this game. It is completely anti-casual and it will frustrate every mom that tries to play it. It takes many hours to learn how to control this game but once you do you start having a lot of fun.

Ack! My edit to add the Gametrailers review somehow nuked all the Virtua Tennis reviews.

Bah, I'll fix it when some Virtua Tennis reviews worth posting show up. :P

There were three posted on metacritic as of this post:

What Virtua Tennis lacks in panache or style, it makes up for with substance, including a comprehensive World Tour mode and the best tennis controls on Wii. [July 2009, p.62]

Cheat Code Central
It’s a solid step up from what’s been on the Wii so far, and it’s addictive enough that we kept playing well past the point where our arms got sore.

As a first attempt at Wii MotionPlus controls this is a decent effort, but it's not quite the definitive article. [July 2009, p.88]

New Virtua Tennis 2009 review

http://wii.nintendolife.com/reviews/2009/06/virtua_tennis_2009_wii

9/10

You’d be extremely hard-pressed to find a more complete tennis package on Wii – Virtua Tennis 2009’s offline and online career modes offer the most engaging representations of the sport on any console, and for those who want a pick-up-and-play there’s always the unmatched array of minigames that are more fun than most dedicated compilations.

Without the MotionPlus, VT2009 is an enjoyable and easy to play arcade tennis game, but with the attachment it becomes an exercise in how versatile, accurate and innovative the Wii Remote can be. After all the Wii’s early promise of a realistic sports experience, it’s Nintendo’s old rivals Sega who show everyone how to make a racquet into an ace smash hit.

Many people are ignoring this game, but it might actually be the better game.

I'm still undecided.

Replaced the VT reviews and added a couple new ones, thanks palancas and noname. The formatting is doing weird things I'm not asking it to do, but I'm afraid trying to fix it may make it worse, so I'm just gonna let it be.

It's worth mentioning that even though they don't have a review for VT yet, IGN gives the nod to Grand Slam Tennis as the better tennis game in their latest podcast.

Do we have a verdict on the difficulty of VT yet? That Amazon review makes it seem like it's so hard it's broken.

That and the apparently problematic online are what's pushing me towards grand slam tennis

The NintendoLife review makes no mention of it, but the Cheat Code Central review does:

"The A.I. controlling them works to provide a decent challenge overall, but there are some weird aspects to their play styles. Somehow, they virtually never whiff shots; to beat them, you have to lure them to a far corner of the court and hit the next shot to an area they can't get to. That's fair enough, considering they're professionals, but we'd have liked to see a little more human fallibility, at least in the lower-ranked opponents."

Doesn't sound as game-breaking as the user review, but it does sound like a real concern. There's apparently some kind of leveling system in the game, so it could be that beating the AI just demands that you train up your stats.

I didn't see any complaints about rickity online in either review.

I'm seriously considering getting either Tiger or Grand Slam, even though I'm not a huge fan of either sport.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
