The only way The Conduit would have a chance to sway Halo people is if it had awesome crouching animations used for teabagging.
Sexually driven, hardcore, nasty teabagging.

"Halo audience," i.e. shooter crowd, I'd say, they looking for two things - graphics and online. I guess if nextgen Nintendo system will be relevant at these fields (and it's already relevant in online, WFC crowd > PSN crowd) and there will be some effort put into these games (including by Nintendo itself, maybe, not 1st party, but 3rd party on contract agreement) - why not? Next GoldenEye, Perfect Dark and Turok trilogy experience (well, not exactly these franchises, as long as they're not Nintendo IPs). Conduit though won't sell system, and Nintendo wouldn't be able to win over "Halo audience", not anytime soon. |
Nintendo is on the way to take over the sports crowd? I hope you're not talking Madden, NBA, proper Football kind of sports. These are ruled by the 360 & PS3... if you look at attach rates, even more so the PS3.
The Conduit? Tiger Woods? Then buyingg Wii Fit plus?? Reggie, what the hell are you talkin' about?? In which world do you live? I really can't believe that you are being serious....
I will tell you what can attract hardcore gamers: Monster Hunter 3 (give it the same ads support than the one Wii Fit has .....) , Dragon Quest X (of course, also with BIG advertisment), The Legend of Zelda Wii.....and maybe a posible GTA exclusive and a supposed Kingdom Hearts 3. Those titles for sure will bring tons of hardcore gamers.
But do not lie to yourshelf: Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports, Wii Music, Mario Party, even New SuperMarioBros Wii will not get Halo audience....we all know....you also know.....everybody know.
Hilarious. Absolutely not. What an absurd comment. They would have to spend so much money -- SO MUCH MONEY -- to capture this market, I don't even know where to begin.
Complete and dramatic overhaul of their online infrastructure
Huge helping of 3rd party moneyhats
Reinvigorated first party development of FPS
For starters. That's hundreds of millions of dollars, just for a spot at the table. Does Nintendo really want to fight that war? It's the reddest of the red oceans.

Tiger Woods wasn't a good example, because I don't know one person that even plays that series.
The Conduit, OK, but the Wii needs more than one shooter with effort put forth into it. More exclusives marketed excellently will get the "Halo audience". Nothing else will.
Actually, the marketing is the most important piece of the puzzle. Games like The Conduit have to be marketed differently from Halo, and exhibit an experience that cannot be found anywhere else. Being a Wi exclusive doesn't count.
Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. " thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."
Reggie was giving examples of the type of game the haRdCorez want. I doubt the Conduit will attract many but if 1:1 lightsaber duels doesn't do it, nothing will.
Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)
Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!
The most "harcore" thing about the Wii is not even a game or is made by nintendo...its called the homebrew channel. People that know what it is, know what I'm talking about...
