New Metroid (other M) looks awesome! Looks much much more like Metroid in my mind then the Prime saga (which I almost consider a spin-off from the Metroid series). THIS looks like the follow-up to Super Metroid that I´ve dreamed about for so many years.

Also don´t forget, this is NOT developed by Team Ninja only, it´s developed by Team Ninja+Nintendo, codename Projekt M. Prime trilogy was not developed by Nintendo but by Retro studios solely. I have big faith in Other M.

That is a very restricting idea. Just because a developer has made a certain type of game does NOT mean they will incorporate all the values into a different one(especially one with already existing values). Not only that, but they are only helping with some of the 3d areas of the game, they are NOT leading development, and therefore they cannot change the core gameplay. Development is being lead by the same people who made the handheld 2d Metroids, both of which were good games with some flaws. How about you stop judging who is developing the game, but rather the game itself. The game from the point of view of me, somebody who takes this series as the best of the best, as a good addition and might even be one of the best in the series(still worried it will be too linear though). 

Edit: Oh and I forgot to mention,  the prime series was NEVER meant to succeed the original series rather than to be a sidestory. I'm thrilled to see this game go back to the main series after such a long time.

Edit 2: Also in one of the interviews they mention a third team developing the game called  Team M or something like that.

if nintendo want to do something new. (which Metroid doesnt need to change anyways) , then they should do it themselves.

its not like retro passes the ball to team ninja without nintendo knowing. nintendo made this happen. they gave another developer a crack at working with one of their famous franchises. sounds like change to me.

@PullusPardus Yet team ninja isn't the head of developement for this game, Nintendo is. Nintendo is doing it, just with some additional help. Anything wrong with that?
