Saving the Mushroom Kingdom is no different than any other selfless life risking story. Saving the Princess from a dragon or innocence from evil is a millenia old story.

Gaming mechanics are gaming mechanics regardless of stories or graphics and that's what gaming IS.

Dude the PS2 crushed the Gamecube way worse than the Wii is currently beating the PS3. Neither the 360 nor PS3 are any more doomed than Nintendo was last generation of systems.

If by good third party games you mean dressed up gaming mechanics with pretty pictures and story, playing as some kind of soldier and without local multiplayer. I don't want them.

MS/Sony gaming divisions are doomed in the sense that their business model will eventually fail.
