Forums - Sales - I think Forza 3 will crack 5M+ overall units sold.

Forza 3 sales have nothing to do with GT5 sales! Or do you think Metal Gear sales will have an impact on Splinter Cell? Or Halo ruined Killzone-sales? I don't think so.

Forza sold 2 million without bundles, which is great. Forza 3 seems to be a huge improvement and racing-fans had a calm year. So I think, it could do 3.5 million, since the userbase got much bigger.

And Xbox Live improved a lot and it seems Forza focuses on that. To create your video etc is a great feature for Xbox Live Users.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Forza 2 picked up when it hit Xbox 360 Classics series, so i guess that on hype alone it should sell atleast 3-3.8mln especially when gamers know that there won't be GT5 for a long time.
both ps360 owners will pick it up, 360 owners, some ps3 only owners will buy 360 for this game and people who didn't buy console before cause they were waiting for big racing sim will buy one for this game(and for the people who will immidiately say that they didn't buy one when Forza 2 went on the market - people were waiting for GT5 thanks to hype sony is making with this series and Forza wasn't well known back then).
i think in 2 weeks Forza 3 should hit about 900-1000k alone especially that it will be released on 32+mln consoles(Forza 2 was release when there was only 10mln 360s on the market). plus it will be released before christmas and that alone will help to move atleast 2.5mln copies by the end of the year. and then there are bundles, Xbox360 Classics series, pricecuts, possible re-releases etc.

Racer/GT fans know GT5 is coming they just saw a trailer, to bad for you but thats plenty enough to stop then from ever buying a 360 for F3.

It took F2 18 weeks to break 1m, F3 will not do it in 2 weeks dude Forza is not GT get it through you're head.  Just like no other shooter has Halos immediate selling power no other racer is in GTs sales league.

Even with heavy bundling and classic, Forza has proven that 4m is as far as it franchise selling capability goes.  F3 will struggle to match that let alone to surpass it to reach +5 million.

Holiday release yes its good but there will also be hell of alot competition, 360 is a shooter dominated console and 1 week after F3 is released CoD MW2 will drop and destroy its sales.  You're 900/1m sales in 2 weeks prediction is not gonna happen.

Im a racer fan from England. Stats show we are possibly the main if not joint main racing audience in the world. We are crazy for car games.

Based off of opinion here in the UK i think most people who played Forza 2 and Prologue deffinatly prefered Forza 2.

So off of the back of that fact i think Forza 3 will do miles better then Forza 2 did. The game looks stunning and the physics of the new engine look great.
But of course can't judge a game by its look but how it plays. So if GT5 plays like prologue and Forza 3 plays like Forza 2 then again the Gran Turismo series will be 2nd best for the 3rd game in a row.
The Sony fanboys think that racing game fans prefer the GT5 series when if you look at the majority of racing communities they bailed on that series long ago.
So GT5 will sell more then Forza 3 in Japan but in Europe and America it will be a close thing. I would not be surprised one bit to see Forza 3 reach 5m units in its lifetime. But for me its not really about how Forza 3 sells but how much GT5 sells. If GT5 fails to sell on par with its previous games then that will be that for the series in terms of hype. It will go the same way as other games living off past glories and past sales.

LMFAO Bailed long ago bahahha.

Europe sales.

Forza 2 - 1.48m
GT5prologue 1.7m (2.14m acordind to PD with PSN sales)

You are foolish if you think Europe sales will be anywhere near close.

GT is hellaluja respected through out the racing/automotive communitie.  You have no clue wtf you are talking about kid.  F1 drivers rally drifters all sing GTs praises, Huge automotive gaints work with PD, they design cars with them they include PD in their car designs.  They use GT as a way to show of cars and let the press test them by drivingthem in GT.

I dont even know anymore if its fanboyism of just plain old ignorance with most of you.

He is the thing the 360 is shooting console and thats about it give it something it gun and it sells ps3 sales are lower but the gaming collection is more well rounded. Without a bundel i would guess 3mil bundel for a extreamly long time (half a year) mabey 6mil but even with its low instal base i would guess gt will sell more not a ton but more. Also if we get a slim ps3 at 299.99 mabey announced at the tgs gran turismo might go crazy. Sorry to get off topic but im guessing 5mill for forza is possible but not probable given sales trends on the 360 being shooter orriented.

you still don't get it do you? when Forza 2 was released there was only 10mln 360s on the market and it sold 523k - more than half of first Forza lifetime sales. right now Forza 2 sold 4 times more copies than Forza 1 so how much you think Forza 3 will sell when there will be not only 32+mln consoles, have much bigger hype, established huge fanbase, but also it will be released just before christmas. atleast 2/3 of Forza 2 owners will buy new game and there is another 29-30mln of possible new buyers at launch so yeah it wouldn't be suprising if this game would sold 900K copies in first 2 weeks worldwide.

also Prologue sold that much cause on ps3 there wasn't any racing sim at that time. also people knew that GT5 is coming 2 years ago too and people still know it's comming the thing is it will be coming for another 2 years and many of us want to play racing sims right now.

and that's why there's already 7 racing 360 games that sold way over milion and soon there will be another 3 that will crack it? plus almost every racing game sold better on 360 than on ps3. not to mention that developers are making more exclusive racing games on 360 than on ps3 so that only proved you're wrong.

I think Forza 3 could easily do 5 Million copies sold, 900k to 1.5 million in the first 2 weeks. There is no doubt that it will cut into some of GT 5's marketshare. Just how much is the question.

While I still think GT 5 will outsell it, I don't think it will be by the amount the Sonyfanboys think. Maybe 2-3million copies more at the most.

what is wrong with you xbox fanboys ?

GT5p sold 3.7 million, can you understand what it means when a $40 1/10th of a full game sales that much ??? Its not rocket science. That shows how strong a franchise really is.

Even if F3 is that much better then F2 that wont translate into much better opening sales, its just not that big a franchise to open that big. You want a good seller to magically become a juggernaut like GT or Halo, sorry that does not happen.

GT5p first week sales were nearly double of Forza2.

640K vs 350k

PS3 was at 11m give or take, 360 was at around 10m.

So what fanboy booze are you drinking to think Forza3 is capable of numbers anywhere near a full GT game, when its opening sales it gets its ass beat by Prologue ?
