Im a racer fan from England. Stats show we are possibly the main if not joint main racing audience in the world. We are crazy for car games.
Based off of opinion here in the UK i think most people who played Forza 2 and Prologue deffinatly prefered Forza 2.
So off of the back of that fact i think Forza 3 will do miles better then Forza 2 did. The game looks stunning and the physics of the new engine look great.
But of course can't judge a game by its look but how it plays. So if GT5 plays like prologue and Forza 3 plays like Forza 2 then again the Gran Turismo series will be 2nd best for the 3rd game in a row.
The Sony fanboys think that racing game fans prefer the GT5 series when if you look at the majority of racing communities they bailed on that series long ago.
So GT5 will sell more then Forza 3 in Japan but in Europe and America it will be a close thing. I would not be surprised one bit to see Forza 3 reach 5m units in its lifetime. But for me its not really about how Forza 3 sells but how much GT5 sells. If GT5 fails to sell on par with its previous games then that will be that for the series in terms of hype. It will go the same way as other games living off past glories and past sales.
