Firstly, it is not a demo
Secondly, this is shipments as of March, so it is fair to assume that the shipped number of games is roughly equal to those sold now, as they will have shipped more by now, so yes, about 600k DLed
Thirdly, given that this game was released at $40, and many of them were bundled, and it is cheaper in the UK, where the game sold loads, we can assume they get about $15 per physical game (as opposed to $25 for a full release), so assuming at least 500k were shipped, a fair number is about 2.5m copies at that value, which gives $37.5m. They you have to add in the 600k that were downloaded at $40, which gives another $24m as all the money goes straight to Sony, giving them just under $60m.... which sounds a little high, but chances are, they have paid for much of the development



About how much income did they get from this then? Sony takes in 100% since Polyphony is internal, no? Would that be $40 x 3,000,000?


Crap, even $10 per copy would bring in minimum $30 million.

That would make it the fourth highest sold PS3 game, and its just a demo!

I have hard time to believe that GT5 will cost anywhere near 100milj. This gen the most expensive game is GTA4 and it was developed to two different platforms. I don't think that Sony lets Polyphony to spent so much money for one game when even Killzone 2 costed under half of that 100milj. and it was developed for something like 4 years.

your leaving costs out, see they had to buy one of every car.... and then there is the hooker and blow budget, which is what   GT5 prolog funded ... its a massive hooker and blow budget part of the reason the game has been in development for so long.... though it dwarfs in comparison to FFXIII H&B budget .... they actually have a small city just for that
