One word: Zelda.

They really should come up with some new ideas like Sony, Microsoft, and Third parties do. I would love to see a brand new idea by myamoto (excuse my spelling on his name). I'm sure he's got plenty. |
oh like MGS4, GTA4, RE5, ratchet and clank 6, FF13, oh wait those are sequals arnt they hhmmm so sorry.
dick cheney loves me, he wants to take me hunting

What I want to see is another Miyamoto game as inspired and interesting as the Mario or Zelda series.
Of course that is unlikely but still, one can only hope right?

First off, please dont call the PS3 and 360 "hd consoles" because they are far more than just "HD" consoles.. why not call them "online consoles" as well? Sure the wii does online but does it do it as good as PS360? Sure the wii does graphics, but does it do it as good as the PS360? Anyhow that is an entire argument in itself, has nothing to do with the discussion.
The reason I quoted was because most of sony's first party ip so far this generation for the Playstation 3 have been full of new ip, from Uncharted, heavenly sword, to little big planet and MAG. Sony have tons of new ip for the PS3. As for microsoft, bioshock, Mass effect, Alan wake, are they sequels or new ip?
What has nintendo released as a new ip that isnt Wii (insert title)?

Its not about sales, its about customers. You can critisize them for not innovating enough but your forgetting games (that you don't personally think are innovative) like Endless Ocean, Wii ---, etc are actually new games. They are innovative but theyre not to your taste.
Fortunately it is most of these games that primarily fund Metriod Primes, Punch Outs and Excitebots.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
meh, for me, nothing Nintendo shows will impress me as much as the other 2...and judging by previous press conference's, they'll focus on the casual market as they've done so that the local news will show them to the masses whom nintendo are targeting.
I own a 360 an Wii and like my 360 more, so Microsoft will most likely win for me. Why? Because try as I might, I have a love for Xbox and got a launch Xbox and 360. They have not disappointed me and I try to take off the fanboy goggles and appreciate what the others bring to the table but my heart is for the 360. But, I will not make a judgment on who won because I know I will not be fair. Just be glad your console is still around and get excited for games YOU want being announced.
Can you people stop building expectations so high, that then not only you will be disappointed, but also your whole family, friends and even the people who didnt hype non-existing stuff.
I know this conference will be the worst E3 for Nintendo in the eyes of most of the core gamers, and so many people will end up disappointed that E3 08 will bring good memories. With all that's been expected, this could mean total disaster for them.
Of course there's like a 0.0001% chance that they will finally have the show everyone's expecting, but that's not gonna happen. I honestly think it will be E3 08 again, but with a more bitter taste left on our mouths.
Oh and BTW I'm talking 1st party games, 3rd party line up is at last a respectable one.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
Why do you think Nintendo apoligizied? Why do you think Punch Out was announced 3 months later? It was all for you, you bitching moaning core gamers.
I cannot believe how naive people are when looking at the company, the company that started this industry. Don't you realise they needed to do this, otherwise they would not exist. Ultimately all this mainstreaming, a copy of Sony's PS cheapest philosophy, is going to benefit all of us long term and they will make up for the lack of core titles. I mean they apologized to you, something a company NEVER does, it shows weakness.

one guy above said it correct, its not about what console its on. its the games!
imo, wii stinks and has 90% crummy games.
the only good new ip that wii came out with that I like is "no more heroes" and thats it
after that, ive lost interest.
therefore i dont like wii because most of the games that come out are low budget, rushed, gimicky games that have no depth to them.
