Forums - Website Topics - So when will Vgchartz's reviews be on metacritic?

The reviews are too biased. They are each written by one person who has very different opinions from the next guy.

The only way I could see it working is if all the reviewers voted on the rating for the game so it averages out.

You just defined what a review is.  You'll find that on any website.

and so how many websites use multiple writers for each review? IGN Nintendo has 3 writers but they don't work together. It clearly says who reviewed it, and some claim IGN is the best review site out there. Boom Blox Bash Party was written by Matt Casamassina, while Punch-Out!! was written by Craig Harris. You'd find the same true for PS3 and X360 reviews.

Also, for all you know it is only 1 person, but there is an approval process that involves multiple people and the score must get through that.

your argument is weak and lame.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I don't see the point in an approval process as such, but just for the other reviewers to take a look and see any obvious anomaly, really no on should care if a game recieved 0.2 lower score because a certain reviewer gave it that.

I put the emphasis on "should" there because it never seems to work out... hell stupid metacritic wouldn't exists if there weren't so many people who actually care about 0.2 differences in a games score.

basically if you say it is a 9, your text has to say it is a 9. Not only that, but sometimes people point out things they left out or missed which raise/lower scores.

This is just from what I've observed, and like I said it is just to make sure numbers are in line with text.

...Is this one of those things where people want reviews to be "objective"?

Do you have any idea how clinical, how stale, how boring a really objective review would be? It would be a bullet point list full of absolute statements, and then it would not have a score.

I prefer word of mouth. Or those people that do reviews on YouTube and don't give them a score but just talk about what they like and dislike and recommend the title.

I'm sorry but the vgchartz reviewers are somewhat biased to some degree, i saw this one guy wrote a review on here less than 3 paragraphs so i cant really trust the reviews in here:/

YOu sure you aren't confusing official reviews and user reviews?
