I had some spare time and was looking at Wii games with 1 million+ sales and huge legs and so far the best total sales/week 1 ratio I have found is 20x for Cod:WaW.

Are there Wii games I missed that sold more than 20 times first week sales so far?( keep it to million sellers so that we compare what is comparable please).

If I didn't miss any this would mean that seeing Punch Out sold 122k in Week 1 it's sales should stay bellow 20x 122k = 2.4 millions.

Just wondering because I see the The Source and Ioi expecting the title to sell around 5 million total units eventually. 

i dunno, i was thinking somehting like 3million but after thjose other sales im not so sure, i need at least 3 weeks of data before i can get a real prediciton in. for now, 2 million maybe?

I think it could well cross 3 million. Strong legs are strong legs, and I think this title will be carried by them. Also, I think the second week of Others will be larger (although maybe not by much, I dunno), much because first week was only 2 days (as always with Others). Seeing the discrepancy between Week 1 and 2 for Pokémon Platinum, I'm imagining that Punch-Out!! Others sales in Week 2 will surpass Week 1 pretty well. Getting to 30k or so perhaps, if we're really lucky.

I expect it to sell over 3 million. This games will definitely have legs.

I went again through all the Wii million sellers.

The best legs for any core games is 20x so far but it's actually quite common ( like 5-6 titles have done that).

There are a few non core games with a better ratio though.


ben 10 has an amazing 100x ratio
Cooking Mama has a 55x ratio.
Rayman Ravid Rabis has a 24x ratio.


For the record the game with the best legs this gen among the top sellers is Nintendogs with a 40x ratio.

And that kick ass legs Mario Kart Wii has only a 7x ratio and it's hard to imagine that ratio will ever get above 10x...

I don't think any games with Week1 sales over 100k on the Wii has a ratio over 20x.

Still historical data makes it hard to believe the game would do anything better than a 20x ratio.
Which would cap sales at 2.4 millions...

5 million seems high. I think 2 million is a minimum, just given all the promotion I've seen Nintendo doing for this title.

I have no idea how popular Punch-Out!! has ever been in Japan, but 3-3.5 million lifetime seems achievable, although there are a awful lot of good games coming in the next few months which could sap Little Mac's endurance.

The 5m was based on a week one opening of ~400k, instead of a week one opening of ~100k.

It will easily clear 1m worldwide. By how much depends on Japan though.

We gotta see the next couple of weeks before we know for sure. I can definitely see this title having a slow burn throughout the year then explode again around the holidays.

Its to early to say, it should have good legs in America and i hope it will improve in Others. But i think it will sell at least 1.5-2 milion lifetime.
