Gimmicks usually have litte use or relevance but the wii remote, the touch screen and the dual screens add to the gameplay. The wii remote is the most obvious one; doing the actions makes the game more immersive. The dual screen creates a more seamless experience because you don't need to go back to the menu to check inventory. Its right there on the bottom or tob screen. Touch screen adds more control options (yea maybe the touch screen is sort of gimmicky but in NSMB it was really convenient to just touch the screen to release you item)

Anyway That's my opinion and you will probably diagree but I thought I'd put in my two cents.

BTW: If you have any examples of how the touch screen adds to the gameplay of a game, post them.

Let me just tell you what I look for in a console:

I like FPS, Sports, racing, some RPG's, Third person action games

What I look for in a handheld: Multimedia compatiabilies (music, video, internet, games)

Really the 360 fits my needs and the PSP fits my needs. There is no reason for me to purchase a Wii or a DS.

@W29

I understand what you mean but calling Nintendo gimmicky seems kind of harsh.

Also don't bother fighting with some of the posters on the forum. Just enjoy your consoles.

Also, the 360 fits my needs better than the wii to, but I think the wii has alot to contribute.

I'm not fighting, I'm just proving to people that the 360 deserves credit and I know on a pie chart in percents 80% of the people on this site owns a Wii with 10% PS3 and 10% 360. Thats my estimate. I don't see to many Xbox 360 fanboys on this site. Its like this:

1. Nintendo

2. Sony

3. Microsoft

And I take back what I said about the Wii. Its not a gimmick, its just 360 fits my taste better when its comes to online, sports, FPS. Wii doesn't have that.

N-gage,Gizmondo,Lynx will beat the gameboy color in sales? Thats just crazy talk. I don't think one of those handhelds sold more than 6 million units.

As for the PSP selling 48 million units, it could.

I sayed that the PSP will beat the 48 million , and it allready sold more than other handhelds ( and the example was the Lynx , N-gage etc. ) . BTW , the PSP also sold allready more than  the Xbox and the GC , and it will soon sell more than the Saturn and N64 :)

that is a strange thing to say. Of course your opinion can be wrong. Just because it is your opinion doesnt make it right. You are entitled to your opinion, but that doesn't mean your opinion is right.
Calling the DS and Wii a gimmick is a pretty cheap shot. I guess it is just out of frustration.

Agreed that the 360 deserves more credit. There should some sort of 360 group in VG Chartz to counter all the negative comments directed at the console.

I guess the 360 really doesn't have anybody to counter the negative comments because they are all busy playing with their great games.
The wii and ps3 are definitely in a slow period

If you can look at my original post before bashing me. I said this when I was talking to tk1797:

"And I take back what I said about the Wii. Its not a gimmick, its just 360 fits my taste better when its comes to online, sports, FPS. Wii doesn't have that."

I'm not fustrated, I'm rather happy to be a 360 owner.

In my opinion, comparing a handhold device to a console is not fair. A household would probably just get 1 console, but they will have to get 1 handhold per child.
Anyway, I would have to say that it is hard to consider the PSP a failure with all that it has done, but with respect to its ambition which was to steal the handhold market from nintendo, it is a failure. Depends on how you look at it I guess.

You got that right. I asked my cousin (he is a 360 only owner) to join the site. He was completely turned off due to the so many people on here that own the Wii. He didn't feel like reading threads about the Wii constantly. I see that their is few people on that have a 360. So really I like this site alot when it comes to sales but hearing news like Wii is getting this and its getting that it really gets annoying. I'm going to start to get some more of my friends on this site so they can help me out.
