Forums - Sales - Recent adjustment hysteria... just where are we? Lets see....

wow @ the negative responses at this thread...

Asking to get this thread closed cause you consider it "useless"??

Questioning why the OP would create a sales thread (a sales thread in a sales forum on a sales website)??

Why is it that if you show numbers or facts, PS3 fanboys fall back into personal attacks against the user, or in this case, the thread?

like it or not the ps3 v 360 gap is a big discussion topic here.

Whatever floats your boat.

It's just that it's not an interesting measure, of all those that could be extracted from the sales. Since I suppose you entered all the weekly hardware numbers for each region in a spreadsheet I would have found more interesting charting the weekly 360/PS3 ratios per region (and analogue with totals). It comes for free (you have the numbers yet) and it probably shows more.

It isnt the same graphs or charts.

I update them regularly and post them regularly.

Like I said, dont like them - dont view them

They will keep appearing weekly / monthly

come on !

of course you update them !!!

my only point : THIS thread is useless.

(the other one is fine)

Hey, what is your problem bro? This guy obviously spent a lot of time making this thread, and it is full of excellent, site related information.

I assume you have some hidden motivation for flaming it, but then I'm just moving into unknown territory.

Please, stop flaming interesting threads because you don't like the information they contain.

As for this thread, I think that Sony is destined for 3rd this gen, unless they pull out a 100 dollar price drop within the next year, and/or release a slim. For the slim to have the needed effect, it will need to be accompanied with a 50 dollar price drop. Single games will do very little. Price drops, brand standing, and relaunches do the vast majority of winning, it seems.

Excellent thread.

You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

percentages mean nothing? thats an odd stance. You wouldnt say that if i asked you to take a 25% paycut.

If my salary was £5 I wouldn't give a shit

if you salary was only £5 you would care even more!

No, id get a new job

Percentages can be twisted in too many ways though.

I think you are missing the big point. If you look at the total numbers of all consoles you realize one important fact: It doesn't matter anymore! The big winner is Nintendo. And if you look at the absolute numbers you see that it siumply doesn't matter who sells more. Both consoles are in a situation that third party companies will go to the PS-3 AND the Xbox360. The financial risk to produce big titles for only one console is pretty severe! Sony can decide: do they want to earn money, than they might have to go multi to, otherwise they must be ready that their games could produce losses!

It seems insame: The game industry booms but most companies have severe losses! They don't need to get better. but they have to get cheaper! It no longer counts where the real hardware limits of the plattforms are, but how are the costs to achieve this performance?

an ex-mod even did it once (while still a mod).. I was mad as hell that day but bit my tongue....

You know, there's only one ex-mod on VGC, so we all know who you're talking about...

Anyway, I see nothing wrong with this thread. Only with the conclusions you draw. And that's your opinion.
