600 million USD loss for the Gaming-division or am I misreading something?

Still lost almost $600m last FY on the games division :P Not quite an "EA", but not that far off.

Nice to see PS3 software up so strong - pity about the matching drop in PS2 software.

Inventory is also down, which is interesting.

Hopefully, next FY games division will be closer/able to break even.

Operating income (for Sony as a whole), is $-2.3bn.

Not really sure if that is a good or bad thing...

Looks like they made a net $750m from one-off sales (i.e. "restructuring changes")

Adjusted operating income is $-1.3bn.

they forecast 13 million PS3 sales next year. So 25% more than this year. Could be a hint to the long waited price cut.

for Y08 the Game-division reports a $600,000,000 loss
for Q4/08 the Game-division reports a $260,000,000 loss.

So the PS3 is definately not profitable. Looking at the situation Sony is in today and the forcast to increase PS3 sells by 25%, I don't see a $100 price-cut happening. I do see a $50 happening though.

@Dirty: For Q4 results you have to subtract Q3+Q2+Q1, I don't think they explicitly state Q4.

Alright Source break it down for us, give us the nitty gritty, decipher the charts, solve the riddles, or to put it better, tell me so I don't have to think.

I still think they are likely to bundle more software for free - a PS3 FFXIII pack & GT5 pack would shift a lot of units.

But a small price cut isn't out of the question - it will make it harder for them to turn a profit next year though.
