What i mean is, there will be games released what are only playable on DSi... and not DSlite.

Those games will be small niche things. No way in hell are they gonna release a Zelda or NSMB 2 on DSi only cart.

Its still a DS.

Yeah, in that case, if they aren't seperating psp sales in any way they shouldn't do that for DS/DSi sales either..But if they don't seperate DS sales nonsensical news reports such as "Psp ps3 DOMINATE Wii and DS wouldn't be valid.

Separating sales is good becouse we have more detailed info.

And publishers thinking about DSi only games are probably thanfull too.

Telling PSP won becouse of that is dumb but it's error in logical thinking on readers part :)

Also..Although nothing to do with Japan....Here in the States Gamestop is giving 70 dollars towards the DSi if you trade in you Lite....I think in the states alot of the DSi sales are due to people upgrading....thus making it sensible for people to separate the sales that way

no i feel the dsi is a different platform, in the sense games made for it can not be played on the ds/dslite. that for me breaks it, the psp is a continous platfrom because all games can be played if the umd less roumer is true that would be a new platform. nintendo is blurring the lines here by allowing devs to make games that will still play on older hardware. the other strike against it for me is the dsi separation from the classic gb/gbc library

They also seperated the DSoriginal and DS lite... but I don't remember seeing any seperation on the PSP redesigns..... nor is there one for the X360s models, nor were there for the PS3 models.

I find you the opinion of DSi only carts making DSi a new platform flawed.

You can view them as like DS peripherals. The cameras are like Balance Board games or something. Again nothing amazing is going to come to DSi only cart. Which is why that is a bullshit excuse imo.
