We have a winner!!

According to wiki:

Combined sales of Master System, Genesis, TurboGrafx, PS1, Saturn, PS2, XBOX, Dreamcast, PS3 and X360 = ~390 Million.

According to VGChartz:

Combined sales of games with Mario in the title = ~375 Million (doesn't include Virtual Console).

I found it interesting how close in sales they are, +/- 5%.

Second place goes to infamous8 for the most amusing answer.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

May the fail be with you.

THAT'S THE ANSWER???

that's not what they have in common with mario, that's what they "have in common" with all mario games to date :(

i was up all night thinking of the answer not really ;)

but nice to know mario is that popular :)
