Forums - PC - EA: "PC is becoming the largest gaming platform in the world"

Hopfully they make some more good PC games, it's been a while since I've beaten a PC game.

I'm tired of just playing Flash games on my expensive gaming PC. They need to announce some big budget PC exlusives that take advantage of all these high end graphics cards already.

Maybe thats the reason why ATI stopped making uber high end graphics cards? Because theres no justification at this point for them. Im just posting Tims thoughts here.

What, are you a spokesperson for him or something? I fully agree with him though.

Becoming? When did it ever stop?

It works out much cheaper for me than gaming on a console would.

The PC doesn't have or may never have games like Killzone , Uncharted , Metal gear Solid 4 , GT5 , Gears Of War 3 , Halo 3 , Final Fantasy 13 and I could go on and on and on...

And it more than makes up for it with its own exclusives and enhanced versions of multi-platform games.

The PC has very few notbale exclusives in comparison to the home consoles and unless the multiplatform game was broken to b egin with , who cares about some slight graphical/performance tweaks ?

All of the games you mentioned there will probably be as lackluster as their predecessors in comparisons to what you can get on the PC so I'm really not seeing your point here. GoW especially. Maybe if you had listed some platformers and fighers I would agree, howerver if it's not a fighter, or a game with heavy platforming, then a better game already  on the PC. The last good FPS games I have seen were UT2004 and HL2.

Well, that's because you pirate too much then. You should buy the games you think deserves your support.

I'll leave the slight graphical enhancements to those suckered into buying an 'HD' console. I'm talking about the ability to mod and change the game to your heart's content, getting extra stuff for free, either from the devs or from the mod community themselves and above all being able to control your game with a mouse rather than buggering about with a joypad.

As for exclusives, I take it you've never heard of the Total War series? Or the Dawn of War, Diablo, Starcraft and Warcraft series and any of a dozen MMO's, not to mention the cream of innovative indie games? It might not get many megabucks exclusives, but there again there aren't many of those exclusive to a console either as they cost far too much these days to have their sales artificially restricted.

Don't be silly. I haven't pirated a game in 5 years or more. I do save £10-15 over the cost of the same game on a console every time I buy one though. Over my 4 year upgrade cycle, buying 10 games a year more than pays for the extra £150 I spent on a graphics card to make my PC into one capable of running games at a quality and frame rate far in excess of a 360 or PS3.

Haha, so you stil have your 166Mhz 486 with a brand new graphics card in it? You'd have to buy soooo many games to make up for the difference. Not saying you are not, how would I know, but the vast majority of gamers don't buy enough to make up the price difference.

Eh? I bought my last PC about 18 months ago. I need a decent one as I develop websites and databases. Like I said, to make it games-worthy, I had to spend about £150 extra on a decent graphics card, for a total cost of around £750.

Every multi-platform game I've bought in the last 18 months and will buy over the next 3 years or so will save me £10-15. I fully expect to have recouped the cost of the graphics card by the time I come to buy a new PC.

If I'd have bought a console, it would still have cost me £600 for the PC, plus the price of the console, plus £10-15 more per game, plus the cost of an HDTV if I wanted to get the most out of it. For me, PC gaming works out a lot cheaper, I get a better choice of the games I like best and I can still run all the games I've bought before. Your mileage may vary of course.
