Forums - Sales - Dead Space overtracked?

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6209132.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=picks&tag=picks;title;3

Glen Schofield says Dead Space has sold about 1.4 million copies on PC/PS3/360, whereas VGChartz has Dead Space on the PS360 sitting at 1.39 million copies.

2 Dead Space Electronic Arts 1,220 N/A 0.60m

I don't know how old his figure is, but it can't be too old. And we don't know if he is talking shipped or sold to consumers either...

Hmm, I went to that gamespot article (something I usually refuse to do) because I thought it would be easy to prove you wrong.

I checked the obvious.

The 1.4 million is worldwide sales according to the article.
the article itself was written today, so presumably the interview is recent.

As the tree said to the lumberjack - I'm stumped

Either its overtracked of it was a simple mistake in the article, which happens.

If only VGC could track PC games sales.

FootballFan - "GT has never been bigger than Halo. Now do a comparison between the two attach ratios and watch GT get stomped by Halo. Reach will sell 5 million more than GT5. Quote me on it."

The article said 1.4 million sales several times, so if it's anyone's mistake, it's Glen Schofield's.

Maybe it sold 10k on PC?

We might get Dead Space shipment numbers later today in EA's financial report.

Its funny enough when people say VGC are better than NPD, but are you telling me that EA themselves are wrong = S

PC version only sold 10k confirmed.

1.4 million shipments as of the end of their most recent financial data which I would expect is the data included in their financial report coming out later today as BKK2 said. Meaning yes if that holds up as shipment numbers then unless there is a virtual sellout and PC version flopped, then we have over tracked across both. Number will depend on how much the PC version sold.
