Each week Wii Sports and Wii consoles are almost always listed as having the same number of sales.  For example, they are both listed as having 106,263 sales in the Americas this week simply because for every Wii sold there is one copy of Wii Sports in the box.  However, unlike Super Mario Bros. (which was a much higher quality game that really did propel post-crash sales in the 8-bit era as it did stand head and shoulders above every game on the market then), Wii Sports just isn't that good (if you look at SMBs review scores in its time you will always see it rated among the very best games which isn't the case with Wii Sports today).

     An asterik needs to be by the Wii Sports numbers because not everyone that purchases a Wii is doing so to play Wii Sports.

Wii Haters really need to have meetings and come up with unified arguments because they constantly argue the opposite thing to try to minimize different elements of the success of the Wii ...

It doesn't matter if they're purchasing Wii Sports to play Wii Sports. Maybe I purchased Super Smash Bros. Brawl to use it as a baseball bat, it's still a copy sold.

But to the average person out there it is the most coolest thing since the pill.

I just don't see any reason that Wii Sports would be selling any better than Wii Play and I suspect it is actually less popular than Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit. In Japan where it isn't bundled it has been a long time since it was in the Top 10 games.

All three consoles have pack-in games. Do you want to exclude all of those too? Or just the ones that aren't "good enough quality" in YOUR opinion?

I do. It shows what the console is capable of. Its lack of pack-in in Japan means people don't see what the Wii is about, hence its low sales compared to other regions. If Wii Sports wasn't bundled the Wii wouldn't have taken off in the other regions either. Just because you didn't like it (and for the record I didn't either) doesn't mean it isn't worth including in figures.

But it is selling better, and there's no reason to claim it's not when it is. Yeah, the sales are bundled, but a sale is a sale.
