It wasn't the first AAA PS3 exclusive. Play magazine gave Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, and Ratchet and Clank Future all 10s. And they also gave Folklore a 9. And IGN gave Uncharted a 9.1, Ratchet and Clank Future a 9.4, and Folklore a 9.0

Look, that's cool and all but that's one magazine and one website, I could probably jump onto some other website or magazine and they'd give those scores in the 6's-8's for those games. |
Yeah, but would they have the same historical precedents as IGN or Diehard Gamefan?
It wasn't the PS3's first AAA exclusive, but it was the first exclusive that really drove HW sales.
imo, Uncharted is a big factor in current PS3 purchasers' minds, but that's because of how pretty much every says it's an awesome game (and it is by the way), but it wasn't like that (word of mouth I mean) until 2-3 months after it came out.
Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it
The majority doesn't care about ratings/internet hype cause if they did Madworld would have sold very well. MGS4 sold well because its a established series and there was little out for PS3 at the time.
It's just that simple.

By mentioning this, what exactly were you trying to say? From the looks of it, you were saying that since Meta has it at 88, it ISN'T "AAA", no?

MGS4 essentially saved the PS3 lineup, paving the way for greater titles. I'd dare say a million of MGS copies came solely from bundling.
