Forums - Sales - Nintendo DS sales hit 50 million worldwide

KillerMan - He can have his opinion, but does that mean others can't? Disagreeing with someone and saying they are wrong on matters of opinion is as much a right as stating the opinion in the first place. And, let's be honest, even some of the most ardent Sony supporters are going to be forthright in saying the the PSP's game selection is to be found lacking. Sony IS doing something about that though (with help from 3rd parties, of course).

Anyway, congrats to Nintendo. They did a fantastic job with the DS and deserve a great deal of what they are getting from it. Here's to hoping next spring sees a price drop. They really just aren't ready for another remodel yet, though I have no doubt one will come long before they consider retiring the DS in favor of any sort of successor. Which is good for us, the gamers, as that means both handhelds could still be unsurpassed even five years from today.

Let me guess. Grandturismo is supposed to think that the DS has better games than the PSP because it's selling better, right? I also think that the PSP has a stronger all-around library than the DS.

grandmaster, he can think however he wants. But then, what right do you have to tell others they can't think he is wrong? If he is free to have his opinion, why then (in your esteem) do others not have that freedom? Why can others not express their disagreement with him, if he has the freedom to think as he pleases?

Really, in what reality do you have the right to disagree with others when they are not permitted to disagree themselves?  How is your opinion better than anyone else's, when it is as contradictory as those you rail against?  You are no better and no greater than those you speak against, yet you are so haughty that you believe it is your right to disagree but it is not theirs?  Bullshit.

State the obvious contest, yay! :) DS rules, btw. ;)

Yeah, PSP has a much better library IMO, but the DS is also pretty good, owning both handhelds gives you the best of both worlds.

My dad thinks DS' are crap. He says that the only good systems are the ones from the Sony brand.

Your dad is smart ... well not the crap part ... the other , with the Sony thingy  ... to bad that not all parents are like that . :P

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

i see the general sony brand as something for dads who are not tech-savvy, they want a tv with a sound system and a camera and a music player and they think that as Sony makes them all they may as well get all Sony so they work best with each other, even though that's not always the case and if it is it still doesn't mean they are better.

The Playstation part of Sony though i think actually makes really good stuff recently, the Psp and Ps3 seem realy good quality even though i'm not interested in them (mainly price reasons)....i think the playstations recent lack of domination is due to the focus away from games, but i still think both are good systems.

the only things i would consider buying of Sonys is playstation stuff, and if there were not cheaper ones possibly a laptop (assuming the battery problem is fixed)...i do have a sony ericsson phone but i don't buy phones for anything other than texting/phoning so i just go for one that's cheap. (it's 3 years old now)
bit off topic i suppose.

on topic, if DS has done 50 million in 3 years, where will the Wii be in 2 years?

But they called him troll because of his opinion. That is wrong.
