Another victim of political correctness.

This doesn't mean the end of the game though.
Atomic games just need to search a new publisher.
Not surprising, except for the part where Konami thought it was a good idea to begin with. Then again... Rock Revolution.
@Zlejedi, Seriously? It was an absolute slaughter and if it was going to be accurate, which it wouldn't have been, it would have encouraged lots of complaints about shooting unarmed civilians or accidently shooting them when entering houses for insurgents. "how boring, no one shoots at you, what a shit game"
And if they had fictionalized the conflict, human rights groups would have complained about the out right lies and propaganda directly contradicting the reality of what happened. Its a hot issue and Konami were smart to stay away from it.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
That rock got hot quickly I guess. Still, Konami were only publishing, right? So it might still appear again with a new backer.
Interesting how quickly they dropped it - I can only assume they were directly bombarded with complaints and not just from individuals.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
Wow... am I actually the only one who is disgusted by this? Where the f*** is media freedom during a time like this?
But as somebody mentioned before this war will also get raped hundreds of times after a couple of decades, and it will probably e at least as popular as today is the Vietnam war or WW2...

Not sure what you mean. Atomic has the freedom to make their game, and Konami has the freedom to publish it or not.
