They wouldn't release both Galaxy and Brawl (Brawl release just under 4 weeks of Galaxy) at least in the US this holiday, if they didnt know in advance that they are definitely increasing production or they have a stockpile of Wiis already.
Wii Code: 4819-7684-2396-4558
As far as I'm concerned, the Wii didn't need to because they were already outselling everone!
Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)
Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U
Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY
During the holiday period, each company must not only sell many units but impress the press and public too. Imagine if 3-4 million Wiis were sold in December!
My themeforest portfolio:
From the interview it's not clear that Regiie says it would be the biggest Holiday supply in gaming history. He is probably just relating to the Wii history so far.
Hardcore gaming is a bubble economy blown up by Microsoft's $7 $6 billion losses.
This article is making it sound like Nintendo can just unload 5-6m Wii's any time they feel like it. If that's true, how come Nintendo doesn't just meet demand now? I mean, they are already putting out consoles at a record pace. If Nintendo has the ability to do that and at the same time horde Wii's away, they could meet demand now!
I'm just trying to understand how hording/stock piling works.
The reason they're holding back is because demand will be even higher at Christmas. If you can't buy a Wii this week, that's ok, you can buy one next week or the week after, or whenever you have time to wait in line in the morning. But if people can't buy a Wii for Christmas, they'll miss a gift-giving opportunity. There are people who will buy Wiis at Christmas who would not buy them at another time. If you don't have enough Wiis at Christmas, you won't sell Wiis to these people.
@grandmaster192
Every company has factories that goes (if everything is going ok) by 100% 24/7. Now during most of the year supply (normaly) is higher than demand. That means when christmas comes you can ship more units, and that is important because during that period people not just by systmes to themselves but to there kids/friends too. Every company is doing this.

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!
