From the interview it's not clear that Regiie says it would be the biggest Holiday supply in gaming history. He is probably just relating to the Wii history so far.
And he also says that there will still be severe shortages through the whole season, so expect some 30 % increase (in line with the increases we have seen so far), not a 300 % explosion of Wii shipments.
Hardcore gaming is a bubble economy blown up by Microsoft's $7 $6 billion losses.
